BloodThirstyKings' (BTK) team captain, Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun revealed the possibility of his team not joining this year’s M4 World Championship. In one of his livestreams, the team’s captain stated that if he stayed with his team in North America (NA), BTK can easily qualify for the world series. However, he thinks it’s not worth waiting and is willing to risk not joining the M4 World Championship in exchange for a better Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene in Southeast Asia (SEA). MobaZane added that he can no longer stay in NA due to how bad the MLBB esports scene is in the region.

MobaZane thinks NA has nothing more to offer other than a possible M4 World Championship spot

Claiming that NA’s MLBB esports scene is stagnant, MobaZane stated that he has grown impatient and is willing to risk losing a chance to secure a slot in the M4 World Championship just to join a more competitive region.

“Let’s say me and Chickn (FwydChickn) go to a team in the Philippines, there’s no guarantee that we’ll qualify to go to M4,” he said. “But at the end of the day, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

MobaZane further explained that NA’s MLBB esports scene is so boring that he is willing to risk missing out on one of the biggest MLBB events just so he can experience a more challenging esports scene.

“You gotta weigh your options, man. Do you wanna stay in NA and get a guaranteed M4 spot, M4 run, or go to an MPL region and risk not having an M4 spot?” BTK’s team captain said.

Fans were sad to hear that BTK may not be able to participate in the M4 World Championship. However, MobaZane has made up his mind and will continue to seek a much more competitive region. “It was a good squad (BTK). I’m sorry guys but I literally just can’t stay in North America for another seven months, waiting for M4,” he said.

MobaZane added that if gaining a spot in the M4 World Championships is all that NA has to offer for him, he’d rather leave the region for other MPL regions in SEA. “It’s a horrible situation really. I can't have both, I gotta choose. I can’t have a good time and a guaranteed M4,” the team captain complained.

Due to the MPL rule that limits each team to only sign up to two foreign pro players, MobaZane could not bring all of his squad members to one MPL region. He further added that nothing will improve in the NA MLBB esports scene even if BTK manages to qualify for the M4 World Championship.

If MobaZane does get a chance to join the MLBB esports scene in the SEA, it will be interesting to see if he can adapt to the region’s ever-evolving meta.
