For many of us, Tom and Jerry were the iconic cartoon characters of our childhoods, but now, NetEase’s esports brand Top Clans Esports has made Tom and Jerry esports a reality. Officially licensed by Warner Bros., Tom and Jerry: Chase faithfully recreates the classic cartoon show’s art style in a mobile game.

The game is a brand-new asymmetric survival game by NetEase Games which makes players literally play cat and mouse. One player plays as Tom, with his sole objective being to catch all the four opposing players who play as Jerry and other mice from the cartoon series. Jerry and the mice have to use their abilities and special items to avoid Tom and steal all the cheese on the map, while Tom has to catch all the mice and tie them to rockets, which leads to some fast-paced action and chaos

Tom and Jerry Esports Tournament Format and Participants

The Top Clans tournament returns this year with multiple titles including Rules of Survival, Dota 2, MARVEL Super War and Tekken and a total prize pool of $85,000. The tournament kicked off on 25th September 2020 with the group stages. After a month-long run, the group stages and later knockout stages will end on 26th October.

Along with the returning titles, new addition Tom and Jerry: Chase, will feature a prize pool of $20,000 dollars. The champions of the event will walk away with $10,000 while the runner-up gets $4,000. This is the first time Tom and Jerry: Chase will appear in an esports event. The Top Clans 2020 group stages for Tom and Jerry: Chase began on 16th October and lasted for 6 days. Day 6 of the Tom and Jerry: Chase leg of Top Clans went live today.

The group stages follow a best-of-3 double-elimination format as the 16 teams were divided into 4 groups based on their final ranked mode rank in the registration phase. The elimination stage will start from 31st October and continue till 1st November. This stage will follow a single-elimination format as the winners of the group stage will battle against the 2nd team of another group.
