Apex Legends Mobile has officially released and available to play. While the developers had stated that controller support would not be available at launch, many are reporting that both Xbox and PlayStation controllers are working with the game. Official support is not yet available but it will be in the near future. Until then, the official PlayStation and Xbox controllers are reportedly working for people. Here is a quick guide on how to use a controller in Apex Legends Mobile.

Connecting a controller in Apex Legends Mobile

At the time of writing, only official Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 controllers work on most devices. Full controller support will be added at a later date.

How to use an Xbox or PlayStation controller on Apex Legends Mobile (iOS)

  1. For an Xbox controller, press the Xbox button to turn on your Xbox controller. Press and hold the Connect button for a few seconds to put your controller into pairing mode.

    For a PlayStation Controller, with your controller turned off, press and hold the PS and Share buttons at the same time until the light bar begins to flash.

  2. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth. Stay on this screen until you've completed the steps to pair your controller

  3. Place your accessory in discovery mode and wait for it to appear on your device. If you can't see it or aren't sure how to make it discoverable, check the instructions that came with your controller or contact the manufacturer.

  4. To pair, tap your controller name when it appears on the screen.

How to use an Xbox or PlayStation controller on Apex Legends Mobile (Android)

  1. On your Android phone, swipe down from the top to pull down the notification bar

  2. Hold down the Bluetooth icon.

  3. Make sure your Bluetooth is toggled On.

  4. Your device should start scanning automatically

  5. Turn on the Xbox One controller by holding the Xbox button. Press and hold the Connect button for a few seconds to put your controller into pairing mode.

    If you have a PlayStation controller, with your controller turned off, press and hold the PS and Share buttons at the same time until the light bar begins to flash.

  6. On your Android device, click on the Pair button

  7. Your device should connect to your controller in a few moments
