Here are five APAC South players you need to watch out for at the TEC Rise of Legion tournament.

Apex Legends fans in the Indian subcontinent are in for a treat as teams from India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are all set to battle it out in The Esports Club (TEC)’s Rise of Legion: Apex Legends tournament, presented by Lenovo and Intel. The registered teams from South Asia will play through a round of qualifiers and meet teams from the Asia Pacific South (APAC South) during the groups and the finals of the Rise of Legion: Apex Legends.

The stakes have been raised really high with 15 teams, including the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS): 2022 Split 2 Playoffs champions Reignite, have been invited to the first-ever South Asian Apex Legends tournament, which will run from 15th June to 24th June. With this being the first-ever Apex Legends tournament of this caliber in India, the players need to prepare to deal with bloodthirsty players from the APAC South region.

Notably, at the Stockholm LAN which hosted the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs, APAC South sent five teams to the event and three out of the five made it to the finals. This was a pretty significant event for the APAC region given the fact that it asserted dominance at a global level with Reignite adding the icing to the cake by taking home the trophy.

Here are five players from the dominant APAC South region, who will be looking to rise up to the occasion once again at the TEC Rise of Legion: Apex Legends event.

Rhys "Zer0" Perry - Reignite

Genburten is an Australian player who is currently playing for Reignite, a Japanese esports organization, which was crowned the champions of ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs held in Stockholm, Sweden. As the team’s in-game leader (IGL), Zer0 helped Reignite win the tournament, despite the team playing without Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose, who had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Reignite took part in the tournament with a last-minute sub: Jake "Jmw" Walters. However, Zer0 made sure that the team did not miss Genburten by putting in a clinical display throughout the tournament and was even awarded the “Monster Energy MVP” for his efforts at the Stockholm LAN.

Zer0 mains Wraith and Valkyrie as his legends and knows how to push them to their limits.

With an impressive 13 kills in the final round of the finals, Zer0 helped Reignite rake up 78 points and punch in its ticket to the ALGS Championships in July.

Joshua "Jaro" Green - Team Burger

Jaro is an Australian player who is currently playing for Team Burger after he joined the team in March. Jaro was by far the most impressive part of the Burger lineup which placed 15th in the finals of the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs. His main legends are Wraith, Gibraltar, and Wattson whom he uses to rake in the kills in clutch situations.

After joining Team Burger, the team had an immediate upsurge in performance, placing third in the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Pro League - APAC South tournament and securing a spot in the Stockholm LAN. Notably, the team picked up 20 kills and collected 35 points in the Playoffs with Jaro securing a total of five kills.

Jaro will be participating in TEC Rise Of Legion: Apex Legends

Po-Han “Roieee” Chen - DreamFire

Roieee is a Taiwanese player who was playing for K7 Esports and is currently a part of the DreamFire roster as a stand-in. He mains Valkyrie and Caustic and was featured as one of the top players from ALGS APAC South on the Electronic Arts website. He is considered the best Apex Legends player from Taiwan by a lot of fans in the community. He recently gained notoriety after Team SoloMid pro player and content creator Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen noticed and praised him for his insane 1v3 clutch play.

Roieee will look to prove that he is one of the best players in APAC South at the TEC Rise of Legion: Apex Legends tournament in the Group Stage which kicks off on 17th June.

Muhammad Iqbal "Bellkun" Salis - Revenant Esports

Bellkun was officially made a part of Revenant Esports in April when the organization signed the roster of FreeAgents. Following this, the team took part in the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs, where it placed in a disappointing 33rd position.

However, the team rallied in the ALGS: 2022 Last Chance Qualifier 2 - APAC South, where it finished third place, narrowly missing out on the opportunity to qualify for the Championships. One of the key reasons behind the team’s success is Bellkun’s phenomenal performances, especially when he gets his hands on Wraith or Octane.

In the APAC South Pro League Split 2, Bellkun’s performances led FreeAgents to place in the top five and qualify for the Stockholm LAN. He has played for different Apex Legends squads including Morph Team and XSpark in the past. Bellkun will look to use this experience in the Rise of Legion: Apex Legends tournament and prove that Revenant Esports is a team that should not be taken lightly in the APAC Apex Legends region and prove themselves as strong contenders for the title.

Zirul "Zaratass" Iman - NXL Wolfpack

NXL Wolfpack is an Indonesian esports team that was formed as a result of a merger between Wolfpack and Team NXL. The team’s X-factor is Zaratass who mains Wraith and Valkyrie as his legends and has been a part of the Apex Legends pro scene since 2020.

Zaratass is one of the most prominent players to have surfaced in the Indonesian Apex Legends scene. He played a crucial role in Wolfpack Arctic clinching a first-place victory in the ALGS Championship 2021 - APAC South, allowing the team to pick up a staggering 32 kills in the Finals of that tournament.

Although NXL Wolfpack has been relatively successful as of late, securing a top 6 finish at the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Pro League - APAC South, it is still yet to hit the highs that Wolfpack Arctic managed to achieve in the past despite playing with the same lineup. Zaratass will be looking to turn the tides and restore the team to its former glory at the Rise of Legion: Apex Legends tournament.
