The LCS 2022 Summer Split is kicking off on 17th June.
As part of the promotions, the LCS released a hype video titled “Tomorrow we fight” featuring some of the veterans of NA League of Legends.

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2022 Summer Split is kicking things off with a classic opener between the new North American (NA) superstar team of Evil Geniuses and the long-standing Cloud9 on 17th June. The LCS 2022 Summer is the second split of the tenth year of this professional League of Legends league.

The LCS wrote on Twitter, “Revolutions aren’t built in a day. Join our legends as we celebrate our past and prepare for the next 10 years of the #LCS. The Summer Split begins on June 17th. #LCS10.

As part of the promotional material for the split, the league released a hype video titled “Tomorrow we fight” featuring some of the veterans of the NA League of Legends esports scene.

The 2022 competitive season marked the 10th anniversary of the North American league which to some extent played a vital role in growing the esports scene of League of Legends in the west.

Pros in the LCS 2022 Summer promo

In the past few years, the fans have witnessed the rise of young talent like Joseph Joon "jojopyun" Pyun, Kyle "Danny" Sakamaki, and Robert “Blaber” Huang among many others. But not a conversation goes by without the mention of the seasoned veterans of the league, who helped build hype around the games and the region.

The following are the pros who are featured in the video:

Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng

Doublelift is one of the most famous players to have risen out of the LCS. His statement: “Everyone is trash” has been visited and revisited over the years and honestly, his trash talk spiced up the league.

Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi

Sneaky is a former League of Legends pro player who turned into a streamer. He has also been actively cosplaying since his retirement. He is currently the owner and advisor for Cloud9. Notably, in 2019, Sneaky became the first player to qualify for Worlds seven years in a row.

William "Meteos" Hartman

Meteos and Sneaky were very famous during their time at Cloud9. Even today, fans enjoy their content and watch pro games alongside these retired veterans. According to Fandom, Meteos had a 12.7 KDA in Season 3 of the LCS Summer Split, the highest in LCS history.

George “HotshotGG” Georgallidis

HotshotGG is the president and co-founder of Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), one of the oldest teams in the LCS. Notably, he was the first big streamer to consistently get 20K viewers and even Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok stated that HotshotGG’s LeBlanc was better than his. To this day, fans recall him dyeing his hair a hot pink in the 2015 Spring Split after losing a bet with Andy “Reginald” Dinh, CEO of Team SoloMid (TSM).

An "BalIs" Van Le

Balls has been playing League of Legends in a professional capacity since 2012. He was part of the FlyQuest lineup right before his retirement in 2017. His pentakill on Darius at Worlds 2015 is still one of the iconic multi-kills at the international Championship.

Daerek "LemonNation" Hart

LemonNation is now retired from competitive League of Legends and is best known as a support player and later head coach for Cloud 9. He was known for carrying a notebook filled with counter-picks. He was often referred to the famous anime Death Note, a reference where the main character writes down names in his notebook.

Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani

Voyboy is currently a streamer for FlyQuest but is famously known for his time on Team Dignitas and Team Curse. He is also known as the “kid” in the community and popularized the phrase “See ya, nerds.

Danny "Shiphtur" Le

Shiphtur was the first esports player to receive a special visa (P-1A visa) from the United States immigration as a professional athlete and he is also An "BalIs" Van Le’s cousin. He popularized Ziggs in the pro meta during his time. He currently plays both League of Legends and Valorant when streaming.

William "scarra" Li

You must have heard the term “scarra ward” many a time while playing League of Legends. He popularized warding the bottom tribrush from the dragon’s pit. Notably, he is the co-founder of OfflineTV. Scarra was known for his time on Team Dignitas and Delta Fox.

Alex "Xpecial" Chu

Xpecial is currently the head coach for Harrisburg University’s League of Legends team. He has been involved in League of Legends esports since 2010 and retired as a pro player in 2018. He was the first support player to reach 2000 assists in the LCS.

Jake Kevin "Xmithie" Puchero

Xmithie is currently the head coach for TSM Academy. He parted ways with Immortal Academy in 2020 and is a six-team LCS champion. He was known for playing tank junglers and for having a jungle style that revolved around tracking the enemy jungler instead of making aggressive plays. Notably, as of 2021, he was the oldest known player to compete in the LCS, having played in his last competitive game when he was 29 years old.
