TEC Gauntlet Season 1 grand finals recap

Velocity Gaming were knocked out of the upper bracket by Global Esports on 30 July and the team had to face off against ForceOne x LegStump Esports to reach the grand finals. Global Esports were in the mood to beat Velocity Gaming for the second time in the playoffs and started off with convincing 13-8 win on Bind but Velocity Gaming was not ready to give up yet.

Map 2 was Icebox where VLT won in convincing fashion with a 13-6 scoreline. VLT was looking to close it off and take home the championship after winning Map 3 13-11 on Breeze but Global Esports mounted a comeback and took home Map 4 on Ascent. After a closely fought fourth game with Global Esports winning 13-10, the it was Map 5 that decided the championship.

Velocity Gaming’s Mohit ‘mw1’ Wakle dominated in the final rounds of the event and helped his team secure the win. VLT won 13-11 and became the Season 1 champions at the TEC Gauntlet.

There will be a short break before Season 2 commences and a TEC All Stars event is scheduled to take place later this month featuring the best players at the event. Global Esports will be looking to recover from its losses and exact revenge against Velocity Gaming in the next season.
