Valorant’s Next Agent Could Be From the Philippines

The first official season of the Valorant Champions Tour has come to a close with Acend taking home the world championship after beating Gambit Esports 3-2. But amidst the hype around two of the best teams competing for the world championship, Riot Games sneaked in teasers for Valorant’s next agent. Patch 4.0 is expected to introduce the new agent and players might be able to try out the new agent as early as January 2022. Here is a rundown of everything we know about Valorant Agent 19.

Everything we know about Valorant Agent 19

Going by the teasers and the hidden pieces of information picked up by the Valorant community, Agent 19 will be a Radiant. In the game’s lore, an event known as the First Light occurred on earth which gave a select few people special powers. The last Radiant agent we received was Astra and Valorant Agent 19 also has special powers as per the teasers by Riot Games.

The teaser references lighting and speed multiple times, and she has lines like “hope they like getting hit by lightning.” Most Valorant characters do not have high mobility and the introduction of an agent that can traverse the map faster than others could be very fun. Riot Games’ devs will be taking a break due to the holiday season and we are scheduled to get the next major patch in January 2021.

During the opening ceremony of Valorant Champions’ grand finals, there was a clip that showcased various coded strings with numbers and letters. An unknown female voice spoke in Filipino and English. In the sound bits that fans got to hear, there were some teasers about the agent’s abilities.

Riot started teasing Valorant Agent 19 since the launch of the latest Night market, with a number of star-shaped lanterns that resemble Filipino lanterns used during the country’s local holidays.

Valorant Agent 19 Release Date

Valorant Agent 19 is expected to release in January 2022 along with patch 4.0. With Valorant Episode 3 Act 3 set to end in early January, a new Episode will kick things off in 2022 and that is when the new agent should drop. An official release date is not yet available but we can expect an agent reveal to take place on social media by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
