OpTic and LOUD will face off against each other on 22nd April at the upper bracket final.

Last year, Brazilian team Acend stole the show and went on to become the 2021 Valorant world champions. In 2022, it is LOUD from Brazil that is making all the headlines at Valorant Masters Reykjavik. The team took out G2 Esports in style and is headed to the upper bracket finals which will take place later this year. In last night’s other matchup, OpTic Gaming kept North America’s hopes alive by taking out Korean team DRX. OpTic and LOUD will face off against each other on 22nd April for a spot at the grand finals.

LOUD vs G2 Esports Recap

LOUD has been taking out one tournament favorite after another in its warpath. The Brazilian team destroyed Team Liquid on its way to match up against G2 Esports. In its first map against G2, the Brazilian team won 13-5, which shocked many fans. The European team could not even answer the unrelenting attack by LOUD with Matias “Saadhak” Delipetro and Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi putting on impressive performances.

The second map was a close contest with G2 Esports attempting to make a comeback in the second half. But LOUD was already too far ahead and it did not let its 8-4 lead from the first half slip away. If things go LOUD’s way, the team could be the Stage One champions in just two more matches.

OpTic vs DRX Recap

North America was considered the strongest region for the majority of 2021 but it is a completely different story this year. OpTic Gaming is the only team from North America that is left in the competition and it barely made it past Korean powerhouse DRX in overtime. In the first map of the night, DRX took a comfortable 13-8 win on Ascent.

Thanks to a solid performance from Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker OpTic managed to even things out with a 13-11 victory on Icebox. Things came down to the very last map and both teams refused to offer any breathing room. OpTic ended up winning in overtime with a 15-13 scoreline.

With LOUD and OpTic going up against each other on 22nd April, it will be one of the biggest matches of the event. Both teams have made their way to the upper bracket finals with strong performances since the start of the Stage One qualifiers.
