Valorant Masters Berlin: Gambit Esports Clinch 3-0 Win to Become Stage 3 Champions

Gambit Esports beat Team Envy at the Valorant Masters Berlin grand finals to become the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 3 Champions. The European team has earned their spot to compete at the world championships later this year. With Europe becoming the top seed, four teams from the region will be heading to Valorant Champions. Gambit Esports will be joined by Acend and Fnatic, and a fourth team shall be decided through the EMEA Last Chance Qualifiers. Here is a recap of how Gambit clinched the Stage 3 championship last night against North American rivals, Team Envy.

Valorant Masters Berlin Grand Finals Recap

Map 1 – Bind (Gambit Esports won 15-13)

Team Envy’s Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen started the night off strong by procuring four kills with a Ghost and built the momentum for his team. Team Envy looked menacing in the first half but Gambit managed to turn up the heat and take the game all the way to 12-12 and eventually 13-13. After 28 gruelling rounds, Gambit managed to win the match 15-13.

Map 2 – Haven (Gambit Esports won 13-11)

While Haven started off with Envy taking an 8-4 lead at the start, Gambit managed to make a comeback and even the score to 8-8. Gambit eventually won the match 13-11, and were just one map win away from a victory.

Map 3 – Split (Gambit Esports won 13-9)

Gambit Esports managed to seal the series 3-0 and took home a 13-9 victory with Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin putting on a solid performance. The team managed to finish the best-of-five series in just three games and are officially the Stage 3 Champions.

Gambit Esports will be taking home $225,000 USD as prize money and a guaranteed spot at Valorant Champions. Team Envy earned $125,000 USD in prize money and 375 circuit points, which is enough to secure its spot in the NA leaderboards and send the players straight to Valorant Champions, without needing to compete in the North American Last Chance Qualifiers (NA LCQ).

Vivo Keyd’s Olavo “heat” Marcelo ended the tournament with the highest Average Combat Score at the event with an impressive 280.3. Team Envy’s Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker fell short by just 0.1 with an average combat score of 280.2.

Yay had the highest Kill/Death Ratio at Masters Berlin with an impressive 1.44. Gambit Esports’ nAts had the second highest K/DR at 1.40.

Jett was the most picked agent at the event with a pick rate of 85% and Sova took second place with a 64% pick rate.

What's next in the Valorant Champions Tour

The Valorant Champions Tour will continue with the regional Last Chance Qualifiers finalizing the remaining slots for Valorant Champions. Once The LCQ events are over, teams will be gearing up to compete at the Valorant Champions LAN event later this year.
