Valorant Champions Day 6: KRU Esports Knocks Out Sentinels

KRU Esports knocked out Sentinels on day six of Valorant Champions, which will come as a shock to fans, to say the least. The two-time Valorant Champions Tour Masters winners were considered by many as “the” team to watch out for but the team’s run has abruptly come to an end after two back-to-back defeats.

Sentinels vs KRU Esports Match 1 - Fracture (Sentinels won 13-7)

Things were looking great for Sentinels with Tyson “TenZ” Ngo making some great plays on his own. The team ended the first half with a 9-3 scoreline but things took a turn from the second half onwards. KRU got only four round wins with star player Juan Pablo "NagZet" Lopez Miranda struggling to secure kills against Sentinels.

Sentinels vs KRU Esports Match 2 - Haven (KRU won 13-11)

Roberto “Mazino” Rivas and Angelo “Keznit” Mori rose to the occasion for KRU and despite trailing heavily in the first half, the team managed to pull off an insane comeback. From trailing 8-4 in the first half, KRU managed to secure nine round wins in the second half to win the game.

Sentinels vs KRU Esports Match 3 - Split (KRU won 13-11)

Keznit was on fire throughout the match with 21 kills to his name, putting him ahead of everyone else in his team. The third map was a repeat of Haven with Sentinels getting yet another 8-4 lead, only for KRU to rally a comeback.

With the win, KRU has become the first non-European team to make it to the playoffs while North America is yet to have a representative make it to the top eight.
