Sentinels' Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin have been nominated for the Esports PC player of the year award at the Esports Awards 2021 event.
Both Valorant pros have been dominant throughout Valorant Champions Tour's inaugural year and will be participating in Valorant Champions later this year.
The players are going up against the likes of Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Wang "Ame" Chunyu

The nominations for the Esports Awards were officially announced and Valorant pros Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin have been nominated for “Esports PC player of the year”. TenZ dominated the first two stages of the Valorant Champions Tour, helping Sentinels secure both Stage 1 and Stage 2 Masters victories. NAts with his team Gambit Esports shone as the Stage 3 superstar. NAts performed consistently throughout the entirety of Valorant Masters Berlin and helped his team earn a spot at Valorant Champions. Both players have been nominated at the Esports Awards 2021 event and it is yet to be seen if one of the Valorant pros manages to secure the prestigious honor.

TenZ has been the most influential player for Sentinels

TenZ was competing for Cloud9 and he took the decision to step down from pro play temporarily. He was regarded as one of the top players in North America but Cloud9 has not been able to meet fan expectations since its entry in Valorant. With Jay "Sinatraa" Won getting suspended from Valorant esports, Sentinels needed a player and TenZ stepped up as part of a loan agreement between Cloud9 and Sentinels.

After TenZ’s arrival in Sentinels, the player put on dominant performances throughout the better half of 2021 and the player almost secured a hat-trick of Masters wins this year.

nAts helped end North Amerca's dominance in the Valorant Champions Tour

While TenZ is known for his Jett, nAts is regarded as the best Cypher player in the world. He is a former CS:GO pro from Russia who transitioned to FishkaVTom last year before joining Gambit Esports. While the team has been dominant in Russia, Gambit faltered in Stage 2 after losing to Fnatic during the EMEA Challengers final.

During Stage 3, nAts was unstoppable and he proved his ability to play any agent. Despite his deadly understanding of Cypher, he managed to put on stellar performances as Viper and Sage. He helped his team secure a spot at Valorant Champions and clinched first place at Masters Berlin.

TenZ and nAts may face off against each other later this year at Valorant Champions as both players will be heading to the world championships. However, they are also competing for the Esports PC player of the year award and it remains to be seen if either of the Valorant pros manage to clinch the award.

Some of the other nominations include Shanghai Dragons’ Jae-Won “LIP” Lee who helped Shanghai Dragons win Overwatch League 2021, PSG.LGD’s Dota 2 pro Wang "Ame" Chunyu who won the OGA Dota PIT Invitational, and Natus Vincere’s CS:GO pro Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev who won the Intel Grand Slam.
