Shroud Gets Tilted by Shorty in Valorant, Calls Out Riot Games

It is always extremely frustrating when an enemy shows up at close range and kills you with a shotgun in Valorant. Well, pro player Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek was no exception to this. Recently, he was in a game alongside his Sentinels teammate Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro in a Valorant ranked match and was playing Viper. He was very vocal after getting killed with a shorty and immediately expressed his frustration. Zellsis had a funny reaction to Shroud and explained how the shotgun meta in Valorant used to be. The shorty is one of the three shotguns in the game and Jett and Raze players love playing it as a secondary weapon or a sidearm.

Why did Shroud lose his cool?

Shroud’s team had a round score of 5-5 and he was playing Viper on Icebox. At the start of the clip, we can see him play from inside the Viper’s Pit with two other teammates and the enemy squad had a man advantage as they had four players alive. Shroud was stationed near the A-site entrance right beside the box and a Jett walked up to him at close range and killed him instantaneously before dashing away. With the shorty, the Jett had dealt 108 damage with one headshot and seven body shots. However, despite having a Phantom in hand, Shroud managed to miss every one of his bullets.

Titled by this, Shroud said, “The fact that I have to consider playing around a $200 fu**** shorty is the goddamn worst design Valorant’s every fu*** thought of.” Following this, Zellsis explained to Shroud that there was a time in Valorant where players could one tap with a bucky from a long range. Shroud added, “They [Riot Games] don’t know what the f*** they’re doing when it comes to shotguns.”

Funnily, Zellsis stops Shroud from further raging at Riot Games developers. He said, “Woah Woah. [If] you wanna be a pro in Riot Games, you need to be a good boy. Riot’s a great company, okay? They make a good game.”

Shotguns are the least favorite weapons in most FPS games and this is the same with Valorant as they are devastatingly strong weapons. The shotguns Bucky and Judge, and even Shorty, are powerful weapons when they are used in the right situations and when they are in the right hands.

The biggest takeaway from the clip is that the two teammates are getting along really well and are having fun. Sentinels is on a one-week hiatus before it has to take on 100 Thieves in the North American Valorant Champions Tour Last Chance Qualifier (NA VCT LCQ).
