Valorant Masters Berlin is off to a start this weekend, but the high-profile esports event seems to be suffering from audio issues which has left a lot of pro players unhappy. The event features 15 of the best teams in the world competing for Valorant Champions Tour Circuit Points and the chance to be a part of Valorant Champions later this year. Riot Games has put on quite the show for the event with holograms and visual effects, but in-game sound has left a lot to be desired according to 100 Thieves’ Ethan “Ethan” Arnold, G2 Esports’ Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas Colocho, and more.

Why are pros complaining about Valorant Masters Berlin

The audio setup at Valorant Masters Berlin seems to be affected by white noise. Players are hearing white noise in their headsets, which is making it difficult to hear ingame sounds and is muffling footsteps. The issue seems to be caused by the tournament client or Riot Games’ setup at the event with G2 mixwell stating that he does not face the issue when he playing using his own setup. He said on Twitter, “All I am gonna say is that the sound is not like playing from home, the white noise actually blocks most of the utility sound like the skye wolf, raze satchel, sova drone so if you see someone doing a dumb play it might be because of that.”

100 Thieves’ Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk confirmed the same issue stating that “it felt like I had to face check a lot more to obtain information and to help my IGL make the proper call.”

100 Thieves’ Ethan said “Riot maybe fix sound for the rest of tournament, no players can hear footsteps.” The issue does not seem to be isolated to specific players and with so many pro players complaining about the white noise, the tournament organizers should address the issue as soon as possible. Riot Games is yet to officially address the issue and hopefully, and hopefully the staff at the event resolves the audio issues before we reach the later stages of the tournament.
