Riot Games announced that it will be celebrating Pride Month alongside its community throughout the month of June.
The company is releasing a bunch of collectibles across League of Legends, TFT, Valorant, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

Pride Month is officially here and Riot Games is adding a bunch of collectibles across its different game titles for players to sport in-game. Riot has been very vocal in its participation in IDAHOTB [International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia] on 17th May, and in 2018, the company began sharing its support of this with the community through in-game icons, homeguard trail animations, emotes, and even a Guardian in Legends of Runeterra.

Riot Games wrote, “In 2018, we introduced the Rainbow Fluft giving queer players a permanent representation of their identities while they play. Over the years, our Pride collection has only grown, with new icons, emotes, and artwork to represent more and more unique identities.

Additionally, Riot has been supporting the LGTBQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Trans, Bisexual, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Plus the rest!) folks and allies across all its titles and has celebrated Pride through the months of May and June with events and personalization content in the past.

Earlier in May, Riot Games released Pride emotes and icons for Pride Month 2022 that were already on the League of Legends Public Beta Environment (PBE). Players of League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra will have access to Pride-themed items in every game throughout the course of the Pride Month.

The company stated that most of the Pride Month content will become available starting 1st June and that players can expect new icons, new trails, new player cards, and other collectibles across all games. About Twisted Fate and Graves, Riot said, “As the month goes on, make sure you keep your eyes on the sea’s horizon, you may just spot two of Bilgewater’s finest heading towards the port with their own stories to share.

As part of Pride Month 2022, the following icons and emotes are already out on the PBE:

  • Emotes with Graves and Twisted Fate titled Accepted and Partners in Crime

  • Poro Pride 2022 Emote

  • Icons with Pengu holding different flags of the LGBTQIA+ community

Usually, these Pride icons and emotes only cost 1 Blue Essence. Apart from this, players will have homeguard trails inside the game. Similar trails and emotes will be available in Wild Rift, too.

Teamfight Tactics - Pride celebration

From the teaser video that Riot had shared, it seems like players will have new “Boom” animations to unlock for Pride Month. Last year, there was a new Pride boom with seven variants to celebrate your victories and players can look forward to unlocking some more this year. These booms will be accessible by equipping the Pride Month Icons in the League of Legends client.

Celebrating Pride Month in Valorant

Players of Valorant can equip Pride-themed gun buddies to their load-outs and also sport Pride player cards. These cards all celebrate specific Pride flags. Last year, players were able to redeem the Pride Month player cards using specific codes like PRISMATIC, COTTONCANDY, PRIMARY, and TWILIGHT, among others.

According to Valorant content creator and influencer Valorleaks, this year, players will have access to Pride Mint card and a new gun buddy.

Riot Games announced that its offices across the globe will be celebrating Pride in their own ways and wrote, “Remember to be on the lookout across all our platforms for more details about the new cosmetics and how you can rock them in-game. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
