New Valorant Agent Mage’s Abilities Leaked

Valorant players were quick to find clues about the possible entry of a new agent. A new email from the practice range hinted at a new unknown character, codenamed Mage, who could be Valorant’s 21st agent. Though Riot Games has not made an official announcement on who Valorant agent 21 could be, the email mentioned a new character called Varun Batra, the keeper of Legion’s new power source. Now, players have been treated to a leak featuring the abilities of this new Valorant agent Mage. An image of a test version of the agent’s abilities also appeared on 25th August and has been doing the rounds on social media.

With Pearl dropping at the start of Episode 5 Act 1, players expected to see a new agent join the expanding roster of the game. But sadly, Riot Games has not released a new agent in Episode 5 Act 2, which came out on 24th August. On the Valorant subreddit, one user named Fun_Professional_480 shared a post containing the abilities and their descriptions of the new agent, who is reportedly codenamed Mage.

The abilities that were leaked as are follows:

E - Bubble: EQUIP bubble and enter into a phased state to place down a bubble by pressing the ability key. Activate to create an impenetrable bubble. Bullets cannot pass through.

Q - Tartarus Pit: EQUIP a Tartarus charger. FIRE to launch a crippling shot that deals some damage and slows players within the zone.

C - Vision Taker: EQUIP a distortion wall launcher. FIRE to create a small line of distortion. Enemies will get briefly blinded if they walk through.

X - Golem: EQUIP the golem doll. FIRE to throw the golem doll. All teammates in the radius will get a regeneration buff and enemies will get a decay debuff. Lasts for a duration or until destroyed by enemies.

The post said, “Some of the wording is a little weird but take this with a grain of salt.”

Riot Games has a history of teasing agents through in-game lore drops and hidden messages. The fact that there is an agent codenamed ‘Mage’ in the game’s files and with the email introducing a new character called Varun Batra, it looks like Riot Games is likely looking to release an agent of Indian origin.

Notably, from the leaked abilities, it is safe to assume that this new agent “Mage” is likely a controller since the ability kit offers a ton of utility to allies. Interestingly, the E ability called Bubble that drops an impenetrable bubble which closely resembles Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection in Apex Legends. Gibraltar’s dome also blocks incoming and outgoing attacks.

However, Riot Games has not confirmed any details about Mage, Varun Batra, or these leaked abilities. Hence, players should take the leaks with a pinch of salt and wait for the official news from the company.
