MAD Lions content creator “Revenant” faced criticism from fans after he posed as an owner and bashed the organization's League of Legends players.
Revenant claimed that he would replace bot laner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság after the team exited from Worlds 2021 after a defeat against DAMWON Gaming.
MAD Lions clarified that Revenant is a content creator. He is not a team owner or in a managerial position to take such decisions.

Luis Miguel “Revenant” Amor Velarde criticized MAD Lions bot laner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság’s on social media when the team got knocked out of Worlds 2021. Revenant claimed that he was an owner of MAD Lions and it led to outrage from fans as they disagreed with the self-proclaimed “team owner” lashing out at Carzzy. But it turns out that Revenant is not a team owner according to a statement by MAD Lions. The organization put out an official statement revealing that Revenant is actually a content creator and does not serve any managerial duties.

A recap of the controversy at MAD Lions on Twitter

After MAD Lions was knocked out of Worlds 2021, Revenant said on Twitter that he feels sorry seeing Javier “Elyoya” Prades being forced to carry the team on his back along with Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser. He also said that Carzzy “doesn’t have the level” to compete with the team and would choose Victor “Flakked” Lirola on the starting roster instead.

Revenant’s response was met with harsh criticism from fans and he deleted the post. He put out an apology stating that he did not intend to disrespect Carzzy or his teammates. He said that he apologized to Carzzy directly to sort things out.

MAD Lion's response to the situation

The situation calmed down after the apology but MAD Lions tweeted out their take on the situation and stated that Revenant is not an owner of the organization. MAD Lions stated that it is proud of the team’s performance, including Carzzy, and that the conversation started by Revenant is “misleading.” The organization revealed that Revenant is “not part of the ownership group or management and does not speak for Mad Lions or Overactive Media.”

Carzzy responded to the situation on social media stating, “My friends don’t be too mad, it doesn’t matter what someone who doesn’t have a single clue about the game says, I am not going to feel down, because someone such as Revenant said something like this. Just stay happy. Don’t let other people get your down. I love MAD.”
