League Profile Tool is a third-party application that allows players to make changes to their summoner icon, profile background, custom status, and many more.
However, since it is a third-party application that allows players to use in-game content that they do not own, it is highly risky and the accounts could get banned.

The League Profile Tool is an application that was built by user MManoah which lets League of Legends players make specific requests to the League Client Update (LCU) or the League client’s Application Programming Interface (API) to change how their profile looks. The League Profile Tool basically helps players customize how their profile looks inside the League of Legends client and makes changes to summoner icons, profile status, and custom background splash art. Additionally, players can also see when they purchased any given skin in the game.

Since this application is a third-party one that lets its players change their profile statuses to ASCII ones and allows them to change their profile backgrounds to skins that they do not have, it is highly risky to use and could end up getting an account permabanned.

The application clearly states, “This project isn’t endorsed by Riot Games and doesn’t reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing League of Legends. League of Legends and Riot Games are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc. League of Legends © Riot Games, Inc.

What aspects of the League client does the League Profile Tool work on?

Before getting into the details of how the application works, let us see which aspects of the client can be changed using the League Profile Tool.

Firstly, the League Profile Tool allows users to change their summoner icon to those that they do not actually own. Players can select icons reportedly available on the Chinese servers or they can also enter specific, custom icon codes to choose some other summoner icon. Simply put, a summoner icon is an avatar picture that represents the player and is displayed on the player’s profile page. It also appears next to others’ summoner names on friend lists, in chat rooms, in custom games, or in arranged teams.

The application can also make changes to the profile background. The background of one’s profile can be changed. If a player wishes to change their profile background to their favorite skin or splash, they can do so by simply clicking on the settings tool in the top right corner of the page and selecting a new skin. However, the player must own said skin if they want to use it as a profile background, which this tool bypasses.

League of Legends allows players to convey a specific message to their friends through a custom status. Players can change this by clicking on the green text beneath their summoner icon and they can change the text.

How does the League Profile Tool work?

This League Profile Tool application is a one-stop-shop for changing summoner icons, and profile backgrounds, bypassing the character limit on the custom status, and also has a feature where players change their rank in the chat.

The application is downloaded and extracted to a different location from where it can be opened and used. However, it requires the League of Legends client to be open and for the version to match for it to work properly.

On a Reddit thread asking if it is safe to use the League Profile Tool, a user named Nayiriii said, “It is bannable, I got permanently banned 3 days ago for just running it in the background, acc of 10 years, also a friend of mine, acc also 10 years, permaban.

Another user said it was an application that is “use at your own risk" and that they would not risk their account getting banned over a fancy custom status.
