League of Legends Patch 12.16 Full Notes: Udyr Released, ARAM Changes

League of Legends patch 12.16 is now live on servers. This patch brings the much-awaited Udyr rework to the game along with buffs to Kai’Sa, Caitlyn, Jayce, and nerfs to Zeri, Poppy, and Draven. The patch also added a VFX update for Fizz and a line of futuristic skins for Nasus, Janna, Camille, and Lucian. Patch 12.16 has been rolled out across League of Legends servers. Here are all the details about the new patch.

League of Legends Patch 12.16 Champion Buffs, Nerfs, Adjustments

The Udyr rework has gone live with this patch. Riot Games revealed a gameplay trailer showcasing the Udyr rework a few weeks ago. The developer has retained his unique stance-based playstyle while giving him a much-needed makeover. Riot is also releasing five new icons based on Spirit Guard Udyr's new look.

ADC buffs in patch 12.16

Riot Games has also focused on buffs for ADCs (Attack Damage Carries) that rely on attack speed items or abilities, while reining in the power of picks like Zeri. According to LolAnalytics, Caitlyn, while still a popular pick, has been lagging behind other ADCs in terms of her win rate. Riot is looking to emphasize her crit-heavy build by buffing the AD (Attack Damage) ratio on her passive and crit-based damage increase on her ultimate. Kai’Sa has also been buffed with increased on hit passive damage and AP (Ability Power) scaling. Tristana also received some love in this patch with increased bonus attack speed on her Q. Given Zeri’s recent performance in the pro scene, Riot is looking to rein in some of her power. She received a nerf in patch 12.14 and 12.12 as well.

ARAM balance changes

Riot is overhauling the ARAM (All Random All Mid) experience with a number of champion buffs and nerfs and a few item adjustments. Riot is buffing the damage dealt for several champions including assassins like Akali, Kha’Zix, LeBlanc, Evelynn and Zed. Tankier champions now have increased damage taken and a reduction in damage dealt. A few ADCs like Ashe, Caitlyn, Miss Fortune are also getting a similar nerf.
