Rushindra Sinha confirmed that the organization’s Brazil visa application for the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023 LOCK//IN had been approved. According to Sinha, Global Esports’ players and members will depart India for Brazil in the next ten days to participate in the event. The VCT 2023 is the third official Valorant tournament circuit by Riot Games and the first iteration of the Valorant franchise league.

Global Esports to depart for Brazil within the next ten days

In September 2022, Riot Games announced 30 franchise teams that will be competing in the Valorant International League throughout 2023. To inaugurate the first iteration of the franchise league, Riot Games invited all 30 franchise teams to play the inaugural event - VCT 2023 LOCK//IN, which will take place between 13th February and 4th March in São Paulo, Brazil. The tournament features a massive prize pool of $500,000 USD, which will be distributed among the 30 teams.

Global Esports is one of the 30 teams to secure a franchise slot in the Valorant franchise league. Notably, it was the only team from the Indian or South Asian region to secure a spot. Global Esports fielded a ten-player roster for the VCT 2023, featuring its former five Indian players and five international players. The organization’s players and members will be traveling to Brazil to compete in the VCT 2023 LOCK//IN.

Global Esports was working on securing the Brazil visa since December. Due to the visa application, Global Esports’ Indian players and members could not travel to the organization’s South Korea bootcamp as planned. Finally, Sinha announced in a tweet that the Brazil visa had arrived.

In a previous tweet, Sinha also revealed that the players and the members would be traveling to Brazil in the next ten days.

Prior to this, Indian teams had only advanced to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) stage of Valorant, and those teams were Global Esports and Velocity Gaming. As a result, Indian Valorant fans are excited to watch an Indian organization play at the prestigious stage of VCT 2023 LOCK//IN. Furthermore, according to a previous statement, there will be at least two Indian players on the Global Esports Valorant roster. It will be exciting to see who will represent Global Esports at the tournament and how the team performs.
