G2 Esports has set its sights on the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Game Changers women’s esports circuit with the signing of its new Valorant roster of former XSET CS:GO players. The new all-female roster features four former female CS:GO players who competed under XSET, Team Secret and Beşiktaş Esports. The players recently announced their departure from Valorant and were picked up by G2 Esports. Here is everything you need to know about the new G2 Valorant roster.

G2 Gozen Roster Overview

The new G2 female Valorant roster is called Gozen, which is a title for female warrior samurai. The players joining the new roster include:

  • Julia “juliano” Kiran

  • Zainab “zAAz” Turkie

  • Petra “Petra” Stoker

  • Anja “aNNja” Vasalic

  • Michaela “Mimi” Lintrup

With the exception of aNNja, the other four players have competed in the EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) Game Changers event under the name “The Originals.” The four players were joined by aNNja, who moved to Rix.GG, and the five players have been playing together since. The team managed to reach the semi-finals of the Game Changers event but fell short against Tenstar Nova, who went on to become the champions.

G2 Gozen Will Compete in Valorant Game Changers

Carlos "Ocelote" Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of G2 Esports said in the official roster announcement, “To me they aren't a female team, they are our VALORANT team. At G2, we build teams and bring in players based on skill and brand fit. These are amongst the best female players in the world and we’re proud to have them. We’ll support them all the way, as we support all our teams, and look forward to seeing them grow and kick some ass as part of the G2 army. “

G2 Gozen’s end goal is to compete in mixed leagues with the best players in esports. Earlier this year, Riot Games announced its Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers program which has supplemented the year-long flagship VCT events and created new opportunities for women and other marginalized genders in the game’s esports.

The roster which is now a part of G2 Esports will be competing in the qualifiers of the second EMEA Game Changers event set to commence on 25th October 2021.
