Faker Re-Signs With T1 League of Legends Roster

Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok is one of, if not the most, recognizable League of Legends professional player out there. He has been the most successful player in League of Legends history but the player has been virtually unchallenged over the years. And the player is back for more after signing with T1’s League of Legends roster once again. In an official statement by T1, all Faker had to say to his audience was “I’m back.”

The Faker vs ShowMaker rivalry will go on

Heo "ShowMaker" Su has proven himself to be a worthy contender for being the best League of Legends player there is and considering that both ShowMaker and Faker compete in the same region, fans will get to see both players go up against each other on more than one occasion next season. Faker has held his title of being the “unkillable demon king” over the years but with ShowMaker in the scene, things are going to be very competitive.

This year when T1 went up against DAMWON Gaming, ShowMaker had the last laugh and with Faker signing a new contract the rivalry between the two is not over yet. Faker has two MSI trophies and three Worlds victories to his name and he may add more accolades to the list if he can stick to his winning ways.

Previously there were speculations of Faker joining military service, which would render him unable to compete in League of Legends esports for two years. South Korea’s laws dictate that every citizen needs to be a part of military service for two years unless a citizen represents the country at an international level and earns accolades. Winning a gold medal at the Asian Games will allow him to skip the mandatory military service.

Faker is set to compete in the 2022 Asian Games and if the player manages to secure a gold medal, he will get to skip the mandatory service. With teams like DAMWON Gaming competing in the Asian Games as well, it is going to be a tough feat to pull off for the three-time world champion.
