Highlights
Modern Warfare II is now available for preorder on all platforms and it is set to release on 28th October.
The Vault Edition will offer players access to the premium pass and over 22 cosmetics.
Preordering will also offer players early access to the open beta for an entire week.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is set to release on 28th October and Activision just released information about pre-purchase bonuses. The game is being priced at $69.99 USD for the base edition and $99.99 for the Vault Edition. The Vault edition will unlock the premium pass and offer access to the open beta one week in advance.

What’s in the Season One Battle Pass?

Following the launch of Modern Warfare II, Vault Edition holders will receive the Season 1 Battle Pass and 50 Tier Skips (or its equivalent) for free. If the Vault Edition is purchased after Season One, the free Battle Pass and Tier Skips can apply to that current season.

Getting this benefit allows you to unlock the full offering of seasonal content like Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more — along with a serious head start in that Battle Pass through 50 Tier Skips. Vault Edition holders will get access to the Red Team 141 Operator Pack and FJX Cinder Weapon Vault but other cosmetics from the battle pass have not been revealed yet.

What is in the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare II?

The Vault Edition of the game includes 20+ “free” items including 12 operator skins and 10 assault rifle blueprints. Players will also get 10 Hours of Double XP Tokens and 10 Hours of Double Weapon XP Tokens for use in Modern Warfare II.

Warzone 2.0 will be free

Warzone 2.0 is expected to drop sometime after the release of Modern Warfare II and it will be a free update that requires no purchase. You do not need to purchase Modern Warfare II to play Warzone.

All progress in Warzone will be reset and players will be required to earn a new arsenal of weapons. Warzone will also get an engine update later this year. The release of Warzone 2.0 has been confirmed but there is no official release date yet. All we know so far is that it will be available after the launch of Modern Warfare II but not on the same day. There are leaks suggesting Warzone 2.0 will release on 16th November which means that we could be just three months away from its release.
