The Steam Deck by Valve released on 25th Feb and people are looking to get their hands on this handheld device. Ever since the announcement of Steam Deck by Valve, people have been citing concerns about the device’s Linux-based operating system and how it would support games that use anti-cheat software. One such game is the battle royale Apex Legends developed by Respawn Entertainment, which uses the Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) system.

Apex Legends is available for play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles as of now. This means it is possible to play this battle royale on nearly every platform available. However, the developers did take a long time to release the game on Switch.

Many Apex Legends fans are wondering whether the game will be available on Valve’s new device. Though Valve has not directly mentioned if Apex Legends would be available on the Steam Deck, it revealed that the console would fully support the entire Steam catalog. The major concern was whether the console would support games using the EAC system.

Answering this, Steam released an update on 21st Jan confirming that the Steam Deck will support titles that use EAC. It reinforced the idea that games like Apex Legends would be supported on the console.

However, currently, the verified list of games by Steam does not include Apex Legends. But, it also does not fall under the category of unsupported games either.

Valve's testing team hasn't yet gotten to the remaining games in your Steam Library, but we're testing new games every day. Come back often to see more of your library get Verified."

Valve is testing more and more games every day and is making progress in testing out the compatibility of all the games in the Steam catalog. Since this is still underway, players can hope to see a status about Apex Legends very soon.
