Why Does Pokimane Not Want to Join an Esports Organizations

Pokimane claimed in a recent stream that she has received multiple offers from teams but has turned them down. She is currently a part of OfflineTV and wants to continue building the organization which she co-founded. Pokimane founded OfflineTV along with Scarra, Chris Chan, and Based Yoona. The organization has grown over time and has seen major content creators like Disguised Toast and Michael Reeves join.

Pokimane shared her thoughts on why she does not want to join a team stating:

"For years and years and years, I've been offered plenty of times by plenty of teams. But I am in OTV, we created Offline TV and I feel like if I joined a team it kind of dilutes my brand and it dilutes the OTV brand. It is just a lot of deliverable and I'd feel like I am spreading myself too thin. I'd rather if I am going to devote myself to something, do it 100%. Whereas if I am a little bit OTV and a little bit whatever org, a little bit this and a little bit that, it's like you are not fully anything.

Also, luckily I am at the point of my career where there isn't much that an org can bring to me that I can't do for myself."

She also shared her future plans with OfflineTV when asked if she wants to work on spinoff content houses and expand the brand. She stated that the OfflineTV team has considered opening up branches in Texas and Canada but there is no structure currently and it provides no benefit to the members. She said,

“OfflineTV is not an esports organization, it is the brand with members who work as themselves.”

She also talked about how working with a team can feel restrictive and could affects her ability to speak freely.
