Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) Season 5 Reloaded will go live in just a few days. The new season will mark the last season for Modern Warfare 2 before the newest edition in the franchise debuts so players are excited to see MW2’s run end with a bang. The midseason update will bring new content to the game, along with a few updates. Here is all you need to know about when Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 Reloaded goes live and what to expect from the new season.
When does Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 Reloaded go live?
With the season nearing its halfway point, fans are wondering what to expect from Season 5 Reloaded. Call of Duty Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 Reloaded is expected to go live around 30th August, 2023, given that most seasons last somewhere around 55 to 75 days. Season 5 Reloaded could launch around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. However, the official date is still to be confirmed, Activision may decide to push the date, if needed.
Call of Duty Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 Reloaded
The season’s theme is 50 years of hip-hop celebration which includes free content and special Bundles available throughout Season 5. Warzone players will see the Armored Royale mode return and have access to another Resurgence map option; Fort Resurgence will be limited to Al Mazrah's Al Bagra Fortress POI. The map will be in rotation with Vondel and Ashika Island Resurgence playlists.
Modern Warfare 2 players can expect a new multiplayer map. DRC – Zone 1 is a core 6v6 map based on a portion of the Building 21 excursion zone in DMZ. New game modes like Gunfight Snipers will put players in 2v2 sniper battles. Gunfight mode is being expanded to include an Armored Gunfight variant, which starts players with 150 armor and 100 health. Additionally, players won't have replacement plates or health regeneration to heal up. All other Gunfight rules still apply here.
Faceoff 4v4 is another mode on Gunfight maps, characterized by fast-action, small-team cage matches, where players can customize their loadouts to play modes like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed. Just like Gunfight, no killstreaks will be available on these small maps.
In addition, three more Operators are arriving during Season 05 to celebrate over five decades of hip hop culture. Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage are making their Call of Duty debut with Operator skins alongside long time franchise veteran Snoop Dogg.
