Capcom announced the upcoming Street Fighter 6 on the franchise’s 35th anniversary with a trailer showing off one of its most recognizable heroes Ryu, going up against new fighter Luke. Later at Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event, the developer later showcased a trailer showing off Chun Li and a new character named Jaime during the event and said that Street Fighter 6 is releasing during 2023.

A week ago, Capcom announced the Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta going live in October for the PS5, Xbox Series X, X|S, and Steam. Here is how you can sign up for the Street Fighter 6 closed beta test.

How to sign up for the Street Fighter 6 closed beta

Players can sign up for a chance at the closed beta via the Street Fighter 6 Website. Note tht you will need a Capcom ID to sign up and take part in the closed beta.

The closed beta test will begin on 7th October and will last till 10th October. Any gamers on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam can sign up. The beta will be featuring 8 characters and a variety of different game modes.

What to expect for the Street Fighter 6 closed beta test

Here are the 8 characters to be available in the upcoming beta:

  • Luke

  • Jamie

  • Ryu

  • Chun-Li

  • Guile

  • Kimberly

  • Juri

  • Ken

The beta will also feature Casual Matches, Ranked Matches, Battle Hub Matches, Open Tournaments, Training Mode, Hub Goods Shop, Extreme Battles (with daily updates), Game Center, Challenges, DJ Booth and Photo Spot. Here are the Playable Stages coming up in the beta test:

  • Metro City Downtown

  • Genbu Temple

  • Carrier Byron Taylor

  • Tian Hong Yuan

  • The Macho Ring

  • Training Room

The Battle Hub looks like an online social hub where players can battle each other or socialize. The game will also feature Avatar Creation where you can customize your avatar that appears in the Battle Hub when you play the game for the first time. Note that players cannot remake your avatar during the Closed Beta. Street Fighter 6 will have crossplay across PC, Playstation and Xbox. The developer said it intends to reimagine the fighting game genre with the upcoming title.
