How to Link Riot Games and Xbox Account

In December 2022, Riot Games decided to partner up with Xbox to offer Game Pass members a number of benefits across the publisher’s many titles. Players could avail all 160+ champions in League of Legends, all current Valorant agents, rare Little Legends and an Arena skin by linking their Riot Games and Xbox accounts. You would need an ongoing Xbox Game Pass subscription to get the perks. Here is how to link your Riot Games and Xbox account. 

How to Link Riot Games and Xbox Account

Linking your accounts is fairly simple. You can link your accounts by navigating to the Xbox Game Pass Welcome Page by clicking here. You will need to sign into your Riot Account and sign in with your Xbox profile to complete the linking process. As noted before, you need an active Xbox Game Pass subscription to avail the benefits. 

You will get a notification when you log into any Riot Games title when your Xbox profile is linked to your account telling you your benefits are unlocked. 

Linking Riot and Xbox account benefits

Here are the many benefits players received by linking their accounts:

Valorant - All Agents will be unlocked under your Agents Contract Screen, receive instant access to new agents on day one, and you will receive a 20% match XP boost given to Battle Pass, Active Agent Contract, & Event Pass Progress. However, XP boost does not apply to daily missions, weekly missions or account level XP. 

League of Legends - Champions will be unlocked in your Champion Collection and you will receive a 20% XP boost. Purchasing in-game champion skins requires a separate purchase of the champion in League of Legends / Wild Rift.

Teamfight Tactics - Unlocked 1-Star Little Legends (excluding latest) and 4 Arena Skins can be found in the Loadouts selector.

League of Legends: Wild Rift - Benefits for League of Legends: Wild Rift will be available later in January 2023. Champions will be unlocked in your Champion Collection and you will receive a 20% XP boost.

Legends of Runeterra - The Foundations set will be unlocked in your Collection and Deck Builder.

Note that for League of Legends and Wild Rift, you cannot buy skins for your Game Pass unlocked champions. You can only buy skins for champions you own. All champions may be unlocked with Game Pass, but just like the free weekly rotation, those champions are only available for a limited time (as long as you have Game Pass). If you want to purchase a skin, you'll have to purchase the champion first.
