Highlights
Valorant players can sometimes experience low client FPS despite meeting all system requirements.
The issue is caused usually on systems running AMD GPUs when recording your own gameplay.
Disabling the Instant Replay feature and opting for other recording software can fix the issue.

Valorant’s Low Client FPS error is usually tied to gameplay recording apps like AMD’s Instant Replay feature. Instant Replay is software that is enabled by default and it is strongly recommended to turn it off if you are facing low client FPS in Valorant. You can bypass the issue by turning off AMD’s Instant replay feature and not record any gameplay at all when playing Valorant. Or, you can switch to a different recording program.

Fix the Low Client FPS error in Valorant

If you want to resolve the low client FPS error, here’s what you need to do.

  1. Press Alt + R or Right Click on your desktop and click on AMD Radeon Software

  2. Click on Settings in the Radeon Software menu.

  3. Head to Preferences.

  4. Disable the switch that says “In-Game Overlay” by clicking or tapping on it.

This will disable the overlay and you will no longer face issues when playing Valorant.

You can use Game Bar if you want to continue recording your footage. If you don’t have Microsoft Game Bar installed on your PC by default, you can download it from the link here. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbox-game-bar/9nzkpstsnw4p?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

The default shortcut for enabling Game Bar is Win + G

  1. Go to Settings > General and enable or disable each feature as desired. Go to the Capture and Audio tabs and repeat.

  2. To record gameplay, press Windows+G, then press Start Recording. Locate the recording later by selecting Show all captures.

  3. Use Windows+Alt+R to start/stop recording, Windows+Alt+Print Screen takes a screenshot, and Windows+Alt+G records the last 30 seconds.

Using Game Bar or other recording software instead of Radeon’s Instant Replay feature should resolve the Low Client FPS Error while also allowing you to record your gameplay. Radeon’s Instant Replay is the only popular recording software that seems to cause issues with Valorant’s Vanguard anti-cheat. Until a fix is available, using a different software or disabling the app when you play Valorant are the only options.
