Tundra Esports Signs Aui_2000 as Dota 2 Coach

Tundra Esports has hired The International 5 (TI5) champion Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling as its Dota 2 head coach ahead of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22. In a Twitter post, the organization shared a video of Aui_2000 discussing his feelings and thoughts about taking on this role. Aui_2000 also disclosed that he had already been working intermittently with Tundra Esports since the middle of the second half of the previous DPC season. Tundra Esports' first series in the DPC Western Europe (WEU) Tour 1: Division 1 will take place on 30th Nov 2021.

“Super excited to work with @TundraEsports_ & support the team on their road to The International! Our first challenge begins tomorrow with the return of the #DPC. We can’t wait to develop & bring new ideas to dota as the season progresses,” said Aui_2000 in a tweet.

Tundra Esports’ squad going into the DPC 2021-22 is as follows:

• Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu

• Adrian “Fata'' Trinks (Team Captain)

• Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling (Team Coach)

A veteran of Dota 2's competitive scene, Aui_2000 has played with most of these players previously, which he cites as one of the reasons for him joining the team as their coach.

“I was attracted to work with this group of players because for a lot of them, I have known them for a long time. For me, Sneyking was one of the first Dota players I played with when I started playing Dota 2. I played with Fata of course on C9 (Cloud 9), with Skiter on Team CR4ZY. Not only are they players I respect for their skill but I have (also) had a lot of good experiences about playing with them on the fundamental side of things.”

Aui_2000 added that when he worked with the roster in the previous DPC season, the foundation was really solid and the players not only listened to his ideas but also contributed their own concepts, which is a very important aspect for him as a coach.

In the recent past, Aui_2000 has been doing a great deal of talent work, commentating and analyzing top level Dota 2 games. Two of his notable broadcasting appearances in 2021 were at The International 10 (TI10) and the WePlay AniMajor.

Going into the DPC 2021-22, Aui_200 will be stepping away from talent work and working towards leading Tundra Esports into a successful campaign. With regards to his expectations with Tundra Esports, Aui_2000 explained that he obviously wants to win, but he wants to focus on his team working hard, building good foundations, and communicating effectively. He believes with these core principles in place victories shall follow suit for the team.

Tundra Esports' first series in the WEU Tour 1: Division 1 will take place on 30th Nov 2021 against Alliance.
