TNC Predator Takes a Temporary Break From Competitive Dota 2

TNC Predator, one of Southeast Asia (SEA)’s premier Dota 2 organizations, has decided to take a break from playing competitive Dota 2. According to a post released on TNC's Facebook page, its Dota 2 players will be taking a "much needed break" and spending time with their families before returning in the next “TI season.” However, the organization plans to continue posting content regarding TI and its players' vacation experiences during this competitive break. TNC Predator’s Dota 2 team last participated in TI10’s SEA qualifier where they lost to Fnatic 3-2 in the grand final, marking their first missed opportunity to reach Dota 2's biggest stage since 2015.

TNC Predator will not play competitive Dota 2 until the next TI season

“You guys won't be seeing any Dota action from us anytime soon but we will be taking the support role for the remaining Filipino players and Southeast Asia teams competing for the TI10 Aegis,” said TNC in its statement.

Furthermore, the Filipino organization thanked their fans for their support and said that they would continue to work towards becoming TI champions.

TNC Predator’s Dota 2 roster at the time of this announcement is as follows:

2. Armel Paul "Armel" Tabios

3. Jun "Bok" Kanehara

4. Timothy John "Tims" Randrup

5. Marvin "Boomy" Rushton

The announcement also clarifies why TNC Predator will not be competing in the upcoming BTS Pro Series S7: SEA. All SEA top-tier teams except for TNC Predator and BOOM Esports were a part of the direct invites to the event. Both teams are currently taking a break from competitive Dota 2 and so, will not be seen playing.

Tims has recently been playing as a stand-in for OB.Neon but TNC Predator made no mention of roster changes in its announcement. It is currently unknown whether or not Tims will be the stand-in for OB.Neon at the BTS Pro Series S7, which begins in a day, on July 27th.

TI10 will take place in Bucharest, Romania from October 7th-17th, which means that we won't see TNC Predator play for more than two months. It is still unknown when the next Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season will begin so the team might be out of action for a lot longer than two months.

As mentioned in its statement, TNC will be cheering for the other SEA teams and the Filipino players at TI10. Fnatic and T1 are the two teams representing SEA at the event. Abed, Karl, Kuku, DJ, and Raven will be among the five Filipino players who will participate at TI10.
