TNC Predator Adds Mushi as Dota 2 Coach For the TI10 SEA Qualifier

TNC Predator has joined hands with the veteran SEA player, Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung, who will be coaching the Filipino Dota 2 team for the upcoming TI10 SEA qualifier. This was announced by the organization via its social media handles, which stated that it was delighted to welcome "legendary Mushi" to its Dota 2 team. Despite the fact that this may seem like a surprising revelation, rumors about this recruitment have been circulating for a short while now. Until this announcement, the Filipino team played without a coach throughout the second DPC season as well as the WePlay AniMajor. Starting 30 June 2021, TNC Predator, with its new coach Mushi, will participate in the SEA qualifier.

Mushi will mentor TNC Predator in his second coaching stint

Malaysian Dota 2 veteran Mushi will coach for the second time in his long Dota 2 career.

In 2019 he had a brief stint with Mineski where he coached the team during TI9.

Having attended multiple editions of The International (TI) and Major Championships as a professional Dota 2 player, Mushi has been an integral member of the esports scene in Southeast Asia (SEA) for years. A few of his notable achievements include finishing third at TI3, fourth at TI4 fourth at TI6, first at the PGL Open Bucharest, and first at the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018.

Mushi recently parted ways with Team SMG after playing with the organization for nearly five months. Many viewed this as the end of his career as a pro Dota 2 player.

As a coach, he now has a relatively new role and will be looking to steer TNC Predator to victory at the TI10 SEA qualifier. In the first DPC season, Kim "Febby" Yong-min, who had originally been the team's coach, was transferred into the active roster to operate as the team's support. TNC Predator has essentially been playing without a coach for the last six months.

Mushi’s addition to TNC Predator should give the team a slight advantage going into the qualifiers because of the lack of experienced coaches in the region. Under the tutelage of Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Park "March" Tae-won, fellow SEA team T1 has secured a win at the ESL One Summer 2021 event and was the runner up of the WePlay AniMajor, showing that SEA teams are a force to be reckoned with when guided by seasoned veterans.

In the TI10 SEA qualifier, TNC Predator will face Team SMG, Mushi's former team. Although there have been a couple of roster changes since he left, Mushi is likely to be familiar with their strategy and gameplay. It is highly likely that Mushi will continue to coach the team through TI10 if TNC Predator wins the qualifier.
