The BTS Pro Series Season 7: SEA Main Event Teams Have Been Finalized

With the conclusion of the closed qualifier for Beyond the Summit (BTS) Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia (SEA), the teams that will participate in the Main Event have been finalized. Galaxy Racer, Army Geniuses, Execration, and OB.Neon are the four teams that qualified via the closed qualifier for the Main Event. The four will likely join T1, Fnatic, Team SMG, and Motivate.Trust Gaming, which had received a direct invite to the ‘group stage.’ These eight teams will now be competing for a share of the $50,000 USD prize pool. The match schedule and format of the BTS Pro Series Season 7: SEA Main Event are yet to be announced.

Galaxy Racer, Army Geniuses, Execration, and OB.Neon qualify for the Main Event

Six teams were invited to the closed qualifier of the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA.

• OB.Neon

• Execration

• 496 Gaming

• Galaxy Racer

• Lilgun

• Army Geniuses

From the open qualifier, Team D and Motivate.Viper Gaming (now M Y) entered the closed qualifier to join these six teams.

The eight teams from both open qualifier and closed qualifier were divided into two groups: Group 1 and Group 2.

Group 1

From the first group, Galaxy Racer and OB.Neon qualified for the Main Event. In the first series, Galaxy Racer defeated 496 Gaming easily. In the next round, Team D won the first game, but Galaxy Racer came back with two wins to take the series.

On the other hand, Team D upset OB.Neon in the first round of Upper Bracket. OB.Neon’s comeback was quite strong as they defeated 496 Gaming 2-0 in less than 50 minutes. The Filipinos then faced Team D again for the last remaining spot in the Main Event. Although Team D put up a fight, OB.Neon seemed to have better in-game strategies as they won 2-0.

Group 2

From the second group, Army Geniuses and Execration advanced to the Main Event. In their first match, Army Geniuses defeated Lilgun, and then defeated Execration 2-1 in a close contest in the second series.

With two games finishing around the 60 minute mark, Execration had to work harder in its first series against M Y. After losing to 496 Gaming in the next round, Execration faced M Y. With a comprehensive performance, the Filipinos won the series in straight games to move on to the Main Event.

The Main Event of the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA is likely to begin soon with the culmination of the closed qualifier. The event is scheduled to run until 15th Aug 2021.
