In taking down T1 at the Sapphire OGA Dota PIT Invitational and eliminating them from the event, Team Spirit has avenged the loss in the upper bracket. The upper bracket series between the two teams had been close, but now, when T1 encountered them again in the lower bracket, Team Spirit was ready for the battle and won 2-0. Miroslaw "Miroslaw" Kolpakov and Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, Team Spirit's support duo, performed significantly better than their counterparts today and made a major difference in Team Spirit's victory. T1 finishes in 4th place, while the Eastern European (EEU) squad advances to the lower bracket final of the event.

T1 vs Team Spirit: Match Recap and Highlights

Game 1 featured well-rounded drafts from both sides. In spite of not coming out on top initially, T1 performed well enough to even it up. Following some smart buybacks, Team Spirit scored a crucial teamfight win at the 30-minute mark. Also, As compared to T1's supports who were simply killed right at the onset of a teamfight, Team Spirit’s supports had a greater impact. Their 30-minute win helped them gradually build a sizable lead, and they won in 48 minutes.

In Game 2, T1 was completely outfoxed by Team Spirit. Once again, the EEU team started off well, which helped them gain a large lead. With their incredible spellcasting, they were even more effective when fighting as a team. 23savage rose in the networth chart on T1, but the team never stood a chance against the enemies during combat. Team Spirit took a 36 minute win with a comprehensive performance.

On the day, Team Spirit was on fire, and in two expected close affairs against Fnatic and T1, the team dominated in multiple aspects of the game. As impressive as the support duo was, the cores also performed well. Team Spirit looks well synchronized and will feel confident going into the series against Tundra Esports in the lower bracket final of the Sapphire OGA Dota PIT Invitational.

In terms of mid-to-late game teamfighting, T1 has been one of the best in the world lately. However, they simply did not measure up on the day. There were moments when they appeared to be on the verge of pulling off yet another remarkable comeback, but it was not to be. As the team heads into a month-long break, they will focus on preparing strategies and coming strong at The International 10 (TI10), which will be held from 7th-17th Oct, 2021.
