Talon Esports secured a 2-1 victory over Blacklist International in Tour 2 of the SEA Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023 to move toward the top of the standings. Talon Esports started off the series on the backfoot after a surprising loss in Game 1. Still, they showed remarkable resilience in the face of Blacklist's challenges, making a comeback in the second and third games to earn a hard-fought victory.
Talon Esports is currently perched on top of the SEA leaderboards alongside Army Geniuses, Team SMG, and Execration who also have two series victories against their names. The Thai organization is looking in good form and is looking likely to make it to the ESL One Berlin Major 2023.
Talon Esports vs Blacklist International: Recap, Highlights
Blacklist International started the match with a bang, taking the first game in a convincing fashion. Marc "Raven" Fausto's signature Terrorblade farmed up a storm across the entire map, while Karl "Karl" Baldovino's Viper provided excellent support by dominating and bullying the Talon lineup to secure the victory for their team.
Talon Esports, however, wasn't going to go down without a fight. In the second game, they managed to bounce back in style, overwhelming their opponents with an uncontested Morphling from Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon which proved to be too much for Blacklist International to handle, and they went down in a tough match.
The final game saw Talon Esports take control once again, with 23savage’s Chaos Knight leading the charge. Despite Blacklist's best efforts, Talon Esports simply outplayed them in every aspect of the game. They secured a crucial victory and moved to the top of the table.
In the post-match interview, 23savage stated that Game 1’s loss was because of an extreme out draft and that the team was prioritizing experimenting and learning through the series. The team tried out the Leshrac-IO combo on Rafli "Mikoto" Rahman and Chan "Oli" Chon Kie and looked to be emulating Gaimin Gladiators’ Major winning strategy in this series.
Talon Esports will next face Polaris Esports while Blacklist International will be looking to regroup and refocus when they face a rapidly improving Army Geniuses lineup in next week’s matches.
