T1 Forced Into DPC SEA Tiebreakers After Fnatic Masterclass

T1 will have to play Polaris Esports (and potentially Team SMG) in the SEA tiebreakers after a 1-2 loss against Fnatic in the SEA DPC. Thanks to the loss in this series marred by internet issues, T1 finished with a 4-3 scoreline in the DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2: Upper Division, level with Polaris Esports. Team SMG may also finish with the same scoreline if it manages to beat BOOM Esports in tomorrow’s blockbuster series. However, if BOOM Esports manages to beat Team SMG, the latter will not have the chance to qualify for the ESL One Stockholm 2022 Major.

So T1 and Polaris Esports will be competing in a tiebreaker series to determine the team that will get to compete at the ESL One Stockholm 2022 Major, with Team SMG potentially joining them depending upon tomorrow’s results.

Fnatic shuts down T1 to finish with a 6-1 record

Game 1 was just the Armel Paul "Armel" Tabios show, as he completely took over the game on his mid lane Keeper of the Light. He managed to dish out more than double the ‘hero damage’ than any other hero in the game, simply walking around the map and killing enemy heroes at will. Fnatic fully capitalized on his farm to secure the win in the first game.

T1 fired back in Game 2 on the back of Karl "Karl" Matthew Baldovino’s Puck who took over the game, finishing without a single death and completely shut down Fnatic’s efforts of coming back into the game, to push it to a deciding Game 3.

T1 seemed to be in control of Game 3 and was looking like they were cruising to victory. But a heroic performance from Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong on his Mars (which included an Aegis steal) saw Fnatic turn it around and clinch the victory.

Fnatic’s players were in good spirits in the post-match interview with Jaunuel "Jaunuel" Arcilla stating that the team was just looking forward to playing against BOOM Esports once again in a Tiebreaker match for 1st place.

Tomorrow’s match featuring BOOM Esports and Team SMG will see the two teams fighting against each other for high stakes. The former will be fighting for a chance at finishing at the top of the table and claiming 400 DPC points, while the latter will fight to force a tiebreaker between T1, Polaris Esports and itself.
