SumaiL will likely be playing as the team's midlaner

Nigma Galaxy has added Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan to its Dota 2 roster, the organization announced today. While Nigma didn’t indicate exactly what his role will be with the team, the organization call SumaiL “The King of Mid,” in its announcement indicating that the player will be playing in the mid lane.

This move will see SumaiL play in the Lower Division of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) season for the first time in his career. Prior to this, the player has always played in the Upper Division of the DPC with his stints in Team Secret, and Team Liquid. He also competed in The International 10 Western Europe Qualifier with OG and ended up winning it.

SumaiL was most recently a part of the Team Secret roster, which finished the Western European DPC 2021/22 Tour 2 in fifth place. Following this disappointing performance, the player was removed from the roster with captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov stating, “This iteration of Team Secret has always had issues. We were trying to solve problems with role swapping or finding a better philosophy to play the game, but ultimately we couldn’t achieve consistency and fell flat.”

Nigma signs SumaiL ahead of the DPC 2021/22 season

Nigma Galaxy has not had a good run in the DPC 2021/22 season, with the team yet to earn a single DPC point through the season. It was even relegated to the lower division, after a disastrous Tour 2 which saw them finish it with 1 win and 6 losses. Following this, the team removed Igor "iLTW" Filatov from its roster and has now picked up SumaiL.

Nigma Galaxy’s roster currently comprises of

  • Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan

  • Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi

  • Ivan Borislavov "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov

  • Maroun "GH" Merhej

  • Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi

  • Roman "rmN-" Paley (Coach)

With SumaiL in the roster, Nigma will have plenty of time to regroup and prepare themselves for the upcoming TI11 Western European Qualifiers and the TI11 Wild Cards. Since the team is currently in the Lower Division, it cannot qualify for the Major and will not be able to obtain enough DPC points to receive a direct invite to the tournament.

Previously, in a stream with Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok, Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev had speculated that SumaiL will not be joining Nigma for the next DPC season. Unfortunately, it looks like this assumption was wrong.
