RAMZES666 and RodjER’s CIS Rejects secure the Division 2 slot in the DPC EEU

Top players from the EEU region together with an up-and-coming midlaner registered under the CIS Rejects banner on Valve’s Majors Registration Page for Tour 1 of the DPC 2021-22, just four days before the roster lock.

  1. Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev

  2. Gleb "depressed kid" Zyryanov

  3. Pavel "9pasha" Khvastunov

  4. Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosian

  5. Artsiom "fng" Barshak

On paper, CIS Rejects appeared to be the best team heading into the first open qualifier. Other noteworthy teams included Hydra, led by Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov of Kyrgyzstan, and V-Gaming. Just a few months ago V-Gaming won the Dota 2 Champions League S3 by dominating the event.

CIS Rejects, however, was a force to be reckoned with right from the start, as they steamrolled past team pudge and ultraHD in the round of 16 and round of 8 respectively. In the semifinals, labelbmb was the team's opponent, but CIS Rejects outdrafted and outplayed them in a 31 minute victory.

Cybercats, the team at the northern end of the bracket, surprised many by reaching the grand finals. With some excellent early and midgame plays, it also looked like it would prevail in the first game of the grand final, but CIS Rejects eventually won through better teamfight executions in a total of 51 minutes. Cybercats appeared to have lost its steam, as in the second game, it was smooth sailing for CIS Rejects, as they emerged victorious in just 26 minutes.

Established players like RAMZES666 or 9pasha normally tend to grab the spotlight but it was CIS Rejects midlaner, depressed kid, who stood out the most in terms of the performances. In addition to his stellar understanding of the midlane, he also displayed an extensive hero pool with a couple of fascinating performances on Invoker.

Six of the eight teams in the DPC EEU 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 2 have now been determined.

  • B8

  • Winstrike Team

  • Nemiga Gaming

  • Gambit Esports

  • Fantastic Five.

  • CIS Rejects

Two more teams will qualify from the open qualifier #2, taking place on the 27th and 28th Nov 2021, following which Division 2 will commence on 29th Nov 2021.
