It was a pretty exciting series between Talon Esports and BOOM Esports in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 3: Division 1, but it was the former who won with a 2-1 scoreline. Talon took an early 1-0 lead after making excellent use of its draft in the first game. Following that, BOOM brought aggression in order to stop the enemy's Medusa strategy to tie the series at 1-1. With constant back and forth between the two sides, the final game proved to be a fitting conclusion to this competitive contest but Talon, led by Worawit "Q" Mekchai on Enchantress, took the victory after an exhilarating 61 minute contest.

BOOM Esports vs Talon Esports: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 began with continuous back and forth exchanges between the two sides. Funny enough, neither squad was able to gain an advantage in these skirmishes. However, Talon's cores, which naturally scaled better, began to pull ahead in the middle stages, allowing them to acquire a 9k advantage in 34 minutes. The battle was still wide open as it all came down to stronger teamfight performances, but Talon brought in immaculate target prioritization to get further ahead and win in 44 minutes.

In game 2, Talon went for 23savage's iconic Medusa in the first phase, prompting BOOM to pick a fast-paced roster capable of snowballing. BOOM maintained their assault throughout the game and even took an early lead, but Talon stayed firm. 23savage continued to farm, giving the squad hope, but BOOM maintained its focus to ultimately overcome Talon's resistance and win the game after 58 minutes.

In game 3, BOOM got off to a good start with Yopaj's Ember Spirit outplaying Mikoto in the midlane. He was able to locate kills while also making room for his other cores, resulting in an early advantage for his team. 23savage farmed quite effectively and stayed up with JaCkky's Monkey King. The networth kept swinging back and forth during the middle stages resulting in a very tight contest. In the end it came down to who performed better during teamfights, and with Q delivering tons of damage on Enchantress, essentially looking like a fourth core, Talon was able to win in 61 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Talon’s performance in Division 1 was expected to be decent as it possesses a bunch of top-tier players on the squad, but the way the team has shown up so far is captivating. All five players on the squad look to be really strong currently. Following the wins against Polaris Esports and Nigma Galaxy SEA, this victory over BOOM will really please the side of Talon further. It now finds itself in strong contention for one of the three Major slots.

BOOM is known for making great comebacks after being down on multiple occasions, but it got outplayed today against Talon's brilliant teamplay. Recently, the team's results have not been as good as they were a few months ago, indicating the team has lost some form. As Division 1 of the SEA DPC is proving to be extremely competitive, it will be exciting to see how BOOM performs in its future games.

BOOM will face Nigma Galaxy SEA on 25th June, while Talon shall go up against Fnatic on 23rd June.
