Puppey Says “Stay Down” After Sending OG to TI10’s Lower Bracket

Team Secret secured 2-0 win over OG in perhaps The International 10's (TI10) most hyped-up series yet. Across both games, Team Secret seemingly had the superior drafts and strategy, completely playing OG out of the map to secure a top six finish at TI10. As a result of this series loss, OG falls into the lower bracket of TI for the first time since 2017. In the post-match winner’s interview, Puppey had just one advice to OG in the lower bracket, "Stay down."

Team Secret will move on to the next round of the upper bracket of TI10’s Main Event and face Invictus Gaming on Thursday (14th October 2021).

OG vs Team Secret: Match Recap and Highlights

In Game 1, Team Secret drafted the Morphling Earthshaker Combo, while OG went with its position three Io. The early game was not favorable to the latter, but a mid-game teamfight saw SumaiL run riot. As a result, OG pushed its lead to 4k, but Team Secret knew that its late game was way superior and hence stalled the game. Once MATUMBAMAN got the Aghanim's Scepter on Morphling, the teamfights simply favored them, and they won in 40 minutes.

Game 2 was a complete stomp. Team Secret snagged Tinker as its last pick and the lanes overall favored them once more. Team Secret's search for enemy heroes on this map was ruthless this time. OG was defeated in 28 minutes and only scored five kills, while the enemies scored 42.

Here are some highlights of the series.

This series demonstrated Puppey and Team Secret's readiness to face OG's quirky drafting style. They had all the tools necessary in both games to combat OG's aggressive style. While they were masterful at dragging the first game to the point where they were stronger, they played aggressively in the second game to take advantage of their superior laning heroes and stomp OG.

This was one of those rare days where OG's unique drafts did not turn out as they had hoped. They showed signs of life in their first game but were outplayed in all aspects of the second game.

As such, Team Secret will now play Invictus Gaming in the next upper bracket round of TI10’s Main Event, while OG falls into the lower bracket and will play the winner of the BO1 match between Quincy Crew vs Team Aster.
