The defending ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 champions OG has been eliminated from the Arlington Major 2022. Team Aster pulled off a fantastic performance in the Lower Bracket Semifinals to eliminate OG from the tournament and book a place in the next round against Team Spirit.

OG will be walking home from the tournament with $50 thousand USD in prize winnings and 590 DPC points. The team will look to regroup and reinvigorate itself ahead of ESL One Malaysia 2022, its next LAN.

Team Aster clutches massive victory over OG

In Game 1, Team Aster showcased the strength of its versatility by picking up a midlane Pudge for Zeng "Ori" Jiaoyang and a Troll Warlord for Du "Monet" Peng. OG did not have any answers for Team Aster's overwhelming pick-off and teamfight potential, despite an early Aghanim's Scepter on Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf's Abbadon. OG ended up conceding the first game in just 35 minutes with 16/1/11 KDA on Monet.

OG made a comeback in the series with an immense Wraith King performance from carry Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev. Although Team Aster controlled the map for most of the second game, a botched teamfight near the Roshan pit allowed OG to take control of the game and push it to a Game 3.

The final game saw some perfect teamfighting from Team Aster on the back of Lin "Xxs" Jing's Brewmaster, Monet's Faceless Void and Ori's Zeus. But OG kept itself in the game through various pick offs and Yuragi's overfarmed Juggernaut.

While the game turned into an intense back-and-forth battle, it was Monet's Refresher Orb that secured the win for Team Aster and booked them a place in the Lower Bracket Finals.

Earlier in the day, OG had secured a 2-1 victory over beastcoast to secure a Top 4 spot in the Arlington Major. The game ended somewhat controversially with ATF seemingly calling beastcoast carry Héctor "K1" Rodríguez a "Bot."

But ATF also received a dose of his own medicine after the conclusion of the Aster vs OG series. Aster support Yu "皮球" Yajun called ATF and ATM after beating OG.

The Arlington Major 2022 will conclude on Sunday with one of PSG.LGD, Team Aster and Team Spirit being crowned as the winners of the tournament. PSG.LGD currently look like the overwhelming favorites following a near flawless run in the Group Stages and the Playoffs of the tournament. It will be interesting to see if they can live up to the expectations.
