For quite some time, it's been confirmed that The International 7 (TI7) champion and one of Dota 2's greatest carry players, Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen, is currently in the last year of his competitive Dota 2 career. With the ongoing last chance qualifier, there is great hope that he can finish his career on a high note by qualifying for TI11. In this regard, Aydin "iNSaNiA" Sarkohi, his captain at Team Liquid, explained whether this increased the pressure on the team. According to iNSaNiA, the Liquid team members do not feel pressure but simply wish to give MATUMBAMAN a fair ending to his Dota 2 career.

INSaNiA says Team Liquid wants TI11 to be a “good memory” for MATUMBAMAN

Our Game's YouTube channel recently held an interview with iNSaNiA regarding the extra pressure of playing the last chance qualifier with MATUMBAMAN having announced his departure after TI11.

“I wouldn’t say pressure but I mean we all wanna do right by him. He is a very good player; you know, he’s capable of bringing very good results, so I think all we are doing is trying to do right by him. It’s not pressure but obviously, we want his last TI to be a good memory.”

MATUMBAMAN has made it quite clear that he is ending his competitive Dota 2 career after this season. In fact, the player has been considering the same for some time, and was on the verge of doing so after last year’s TI where he came in third with Team Secret, but went for the last ride with Team Liquid after he changed his mind later.

But, in his remarks, the 27-year-old said nothing would change his mind about retiring after TI11.

iNSaNiA was asked during the interview who the team’s toughest opponent in the qualifier was, but he maintained a modest response.

“I mean, the thing is every team is nowadays so good, you can’t underestimate anyone and you kind of have to be ready for every single team. So, I don’t know but maybe I can tell you after the qualifier.”

Only two teams will advance to TI11 from the remaining eight teams in the qualifier. The qualifier ends on 12th Oct while the group stage of TI11 begins on 15th Oct.
