Fnatic Knocks Omega Esports to The Lower Bracket of TI10 SEA Qualifiers
The SEA TI10 Regional Qualifiers have begun and Fnatic kicks it off with a hard-earned win against Omega Esports in the upper bracket. Fnatic took the first game relatively easily after which they were subjected to a grueling hour-long second game which they lost. Omega Esports, however, could not ride the momentum into the third game with Fnatic taking the game and series. This is perhaps one of the most competitive brackets that a SEA TI qualifier has seen with favorites like TNC Predator, Fnatic, OB.Neon and underdogs like Motivate Trust and Team SMG. The SEA Qualifiers will go on until July 3, 2021.
Omega Esports Get Knocked Down to Lower Bracket by Fnatic who Advance in the Upper Bracket
Recap
Game one saw Fnatic losing the laning stage quite heavily against Omega Esports but Fnatic took advantage of crucial mistakes made by Omega and turned it around completely by the thirty-minute mark. Their Puck-Medusa core duo eventually paid off and secured the win
Game two was “another '' pub for the SEA fans as the game became a grueling hour-long battle of attrition. There were many mistakes (throws) from both sides but Omega Esports took the win with their excellent late game lineup in the Storm Spirit and Lifestealer combo.
Game three was a disappointing finish to the nailbiter that the second game was. Omega Esports seemed lackluster and could not bring themselves together after the tiresome game that was game two. And Fnatic took advantage of every mistake and ended the game shortly after the hour mark.
It might be a good idea to reconsider Fnatic's status as a favorite for the TI qualifier after this series. They did not look like they were at the peak of their powers, despite people expecting them to dominate after their recent roster shuffle where they moved Ng "ChYuan" Kee Chyuan into the mid lane, replacing long-time member Kam "Moon" Boon and bringing in Yang "Deth" Wu Heng into the offlane. Fnatic will need to step up their game in their upcoming matches in the SEA qualifiers if they hope to secure the single TI10 spot that is available for SEA.
While Fnatic moves on in the upper bracket to face the winner of OB.Neon Esports vs Motivate Trust Gaming which will be one heck of a matchup, we will see Omega Esports try to survive in the lower bracket against Galaxy Racer in their next series.
