The series between Talon Esports and Fnatic's series in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 3: Division 1 was bound to be close considering the two teams’ unbeaten record so far, but the latter proved too strong as it thumped the former 2-0. There was little intent on Talon's part to take control of the series, as it appeared to be relatively passive in both games. In contrast, Fnatic played with a clear plan and despite a challenging laning phase in game two, the team was able to find kills and objectives fairly easily. With this win, Fnatic takes three wins in a row, while Talon drops its first series after three straight victories.

Fnatic vs Talon Esports: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In game 1, Fnatic put on a discerning show of Dota 2, picking up the correct items and forcing a tier 3 tower assault as early as 18 minutes. Talon was definitely finding farm on 23savage and Mikoto, but it was unable to confront the opponents head on, and watched its towers fall one by one. With the networth not being too much in Fnatic's advantage, there was optimism on Talon’s end, but it never really made major moves and was relatively passive. At the same time, Fnatic was also flawless in every play it made and won the opening game in 37 minutes.

Game 2 began well for Talon, with the squad finding kills and, in particular, shutting down Raven's Templar Assassin. Fnatic appeared to be forced into a game three after trailing by a 5k networth in just 13 minutes. But it was at this point that Fnatic made a clever attempt to take down Roshan, after which it grabbed control of the game. Talon began to appear out of sorts and continued to lose bodies without making any concerted moves. Fnatic's draft also became more potent as the game continued, and Talon lost in 31 minutes despite dominating Fnatic in the laning phase.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Today, Fnatic proved its top form against Talon with a convincing 2-0 win after having beaten Nigma Galaxy SEA and RSG by scores of 2-1. Over the past few months, Fnatic's players have become much better at not making crucial mistakes during individual plays, and they have become much more consistent. It may be the best team in the region with the form that the team is currently in.

There were some issues with Talon's performance today, but Fnatic was flawless for the majority of the series. Talon has displayed a tendency to play longer games; however, Fnatic exploited this today by using heroes who could take Roshan quickly and take down Talon's high ground as quickly as possible. In its next series, Talon would want to revisit its drafting and playing strategy to come back stronger.

While Fnatic plays against Team SMG next on 2nd July, Talon will go up against T1 on 30th June in a very hyped matchup.
