Fly Returns to Evil Geniuses’ Dota 2 Lineup Ahead of Final DPC Tour

After spending six months away from Evil Geniuses and four months away from competitive Dota 2, Tal "Fly" Aizik has finally returned to the North American organization today, just ahead of the upcoming Tour 3 of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021/22. This comes one week after the Evil Geniuses organization announced the departure of Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka.

Fly returns to EG after his stints in Southeast Asia with Talon Esports and as a coach for TSM in the North American regional finals for the Dota 2 Pro Circuit 2021/22 Tour 1.

Fly joins Evil Geniuses for a second stint

Evil Geniuses announced the move through a video that showed it reworking its original graphic that announced the players’ departure into a “Welcome Back” image.

Fly returns to several familiar faces in long-time EG members, Artour "Arteezy" Babaev, Andreas Franck "Cr1t-" Nielsen and Abed Azel "Abed" L. Yusop. With Fly returning to the lineup, Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko is the only player in the team that wasn’t part of the EG roster that competed at The International 2021.

During his previous stint in Evil Geniuses, Fly led Evil Geniuses to secure a Top 6 finish at The International 2019 and a Top 12 finish at The International 2021. His biggest success were at DPC Majors where Evil Geniuses secured three runner-up finishes in-a-row at the DreamLeague Season 13, ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, and the WePlay AniMajor.

Evil Geniuses will resume its journey in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/22 which kicks off on June 6th. The team currently has 562 DPC points and is not amongst the Top 12 teams that will receive a direct invite to The International 2022.
