The Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) China 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 has begun and PSG.LGD after having beaten Team Aster and Phoenix Gaming in its first two series seems to be the team of the hour. Since all other seven teams in Division 1 have overhauled their rosters ahead of the season, it is not yet known who will stand as PSG.LGD’s strongest contender. PSG.LGD's offlaner, Zhang "Faith_bian" Ruida believes it could be the revamped Royal Never Give Up team. As Faith_bian mentioned, he is most eager to play against Royal Never Give Up after the scrim results.

Royal Never Give Up might be PSG.LGD’s toughest opponent in the DPC 2021-22 Tour 1 according to Faith_bian

Although Team Aster posed a mighty challenge for PSG.LGD in the first series of the DPC 2021-22, the latter, despite sluggish starts, came back to win 2-1, thanks to its impeccable teamfight skills.

Faith_bian was asked during the post-match interview if there was any team from the remaining six that he was most looking forward to playing, and he responded, “RNG (Royal Never Give Up), because, in the scrims, we figured out that they are the best team.”

Royal Never Give Up’s Dota 2 roster was bolstered by the addition of three of the most well-established Dota 2 players in China after The International 10 (TI10). Lu "Somnus丶M" Yao, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi, and Yap "xNova" Jian Wei joined in the midlane, offlane, and the support roles respectively. In the recent Huya Dota 2 Winter Invitational, where Chinese Division 1 teams such as Team Aster, Invictus Gaming, and Vici Gaming competed, Royal Never Give Up emerged as the best amongst them. The team reached the grand final but lost to OB.Neon.

Taking into account the results of PSG.LGD’s scrims, according to Faith_bian, and the Huya Dota2 Winter Invitational performance, Royal Never Give Up might just be the most difficult competition for PSG.LGD.

It was also mentioned by Faith_bian that the team did not play much competitive Dota 2 in recent times, which might be why it had some unimpressive moments against Team Aster in its debut DPC 2021-22 series. With more practice, PSG.LGD will likely become an increasingly tough opponent, as demonstrated by the second series against Phoenix Gaming where it came out all guns blazing, winning 2-0.

The series between PSG.LGD and Royal Never Give Up has yet to be scheduled.
