DOTA: Dragon's Blood Series Nominated for The Esports Awards 2021

DOTA: Dragon's Blood, the Valve x Netflix Dota 2 animated series, has been nominated to be a finalist at the Esports Awards 2021 for "Esports Content Series of the Year." Featuring eight episodes, the first season of the DOTA: Dragon's Blood which is themed around Dota 2, debuted on Netflix on 25th March 2021. Among the nominees for the "Esports Content Series of the Year" are content series from other esports games, such as Valorant, a podcast, and a documentary, among others. Dota 2’s anime makes it to the final of the Esports Content Series of the Year at The Esports Awards 2021

In its early days, DOTA: Dragon's Blood was a fairly successful anime, trending in Southeast Asia (SEA), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and South America (SA) countries. The film currently has an IMDb rating of 8/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 73%.

Due to this positive reception, the anime is now in the running for the Esports Content Series of the Year at The Esports Awards 2021. In this category, the finalists are:

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is currently available for streaming on Netflix. A second season of the show, which is currently in the works, was announced by Valve on 19th April. Though Valve has promised a second season of the Dota 2 anime it hasn't revealed anything about its release date, its cast, or the characters it will depict.

As part of the Esports Awards 4th Spotlight Show, the finalists of some other awards were also announced along with this "Esports Content Series of the Year" award. All of these awards are part of the "creative" category. The other awards are Esports Cosplay of the Year, Esports Creative of the Year, Esports Creative Piece of the Year, Esports Creative Team of the Year, and Esports Video Production Team of the Year.

At the Esports Awards 2021, Team Secret won the Esports Team of the Year award, Lee "Heen" Seung Gon (coach of Team Secret) was awarded Esports Coach of the Year, and Michał "Nisha" Jankowski (midlaner of Team Secret) was awarded Esports PC Player of the Year.
