Dota 2 Patch 7.30 Released: Notes and Details

Dota 2 patch 7.30 is now live, bringing a host of changes to heroes, items, and general gameplay. As a breath of fresh air, some other really important changes have also been made, such as the removal of Cheese from the second Roshan and the change in pick order during Captain's Mode. The game has removed some neutral items and introduced new ones to replace them. Some heroes have gained brand-new skills and Aghanim’s Shards, while others have had their innate abilities modified.

Dota 2 patch 7.30: All that you need to know

Since the conclusion of The International 10 (TI10) qualifiers in July 2021, Dota 2 players have been awaiting the arrival of a new update. It took longer than expected but now, finally, on 18th August, Valve has released a primary patch 7.30.

Item changes

General items

Aeon Disk, one of the most broken items in the previous patch, now has an escalating cooldown. It will have a 105-second cooldown the first time it procs. Thereafter, its cooldown increases by 20 seconds every time it triggers, up to 165 seconds. Cooldown: 105/125/145/165s

Helm of the Overlord, an item that was hardly picked up in previous patches, has received a sizable change. The item, which costs 6050, now requires Helm of the Dominator, Vladmir's Offering, and a 1000 gold recipe. Due to these changes, the creep, under the control of the player, now boasts some high stats.

Silver Edge now requires Shadow Blade + Crystalys + 350 gold recipe - total cost decreased from 5650 to 5300. It will now have a 30% chance of dealing 160% critical damage.

In addition to these items, Witch Blade, Mage Slayer, and Gleipnir have also been updated significantly.

Neutral Items

Seven neutral items have been removed from the game.

2. Ironwood Tree

3. Imp Claw

4. Illusionist’s Cape

5. Minotaur Horn

6. Orb of Destruction

7. Ballista

As a replacement, eight new neutral items have been added to the game. Some of the other neutral items' stats have been updated as well.

Hero Changes

Changes have been made to almost all heroes. Even though only time will tell what the meta heroes of 7.30 will be, the important thing to notice is that the broken heroes from the previous patch have indeed been nerfed.

It was Winter Wyvern that was affected the most by the nerfs to Arctic Burn, Winter's Curse, and Cold Embrace. In addition, the nerfs to other broken heroes like Templar Assassin, Timbersaw, Broodmother, and Luna will likely lower their presence in ranked and professional games.

Clinkz and Tinker are two heroes who have seen their innate abilities significantly reworked.

The heroes you should keep an eye on in the coming days include Bounty Hunter, Outworld Destroyer, Faceless Void, and Pudge.

General Changes

The most important general change, from the competitive standpoint, is the change in pick order during the second phase in Captain’s mode. If Radiant had the first pick, the second phase order is “changed from Dire/Radiant/Dire/Radiant to Dire/Radiant/Radiant/Dire.”

Additionally, Cheese is removed from the second Roshan, five neutral items now drop per tier, and certain mathematical changes were made to HP regeneration, cooldown percentage reduction, and multiple critical procs.

Water Rune's healing has been reduced from 80 to 40, which has significantly nerfed Bottle. Health and mana restored by one Bottle charge have also been decreased.
