Coach March Reveals the Most Important Player in T1

T1 defeated Polaris Esports 2-0 in a key series win in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 3: Division 1. T1 remains in contention for the PGL Arlington Major. Following the victory, coach Park "March" Tae-won arrived for the post-match winner's interview when he was asked a tricky question regarding who the team's best player is. While March was uncertain of who the "best" player is, he did say that captain Carlo "Kuku" Palad is the most significant player on T1. Furthermore, March also revealed which of the five players in the squad has the biggest talent ceiling.

March says captain Kuku is of utmost importance for T1

While Kuku was deemed the team's most essential player, March stated that midlaner Karl "Karl" Matthew Baldovino has the greatest skill ceiling.

“Personally, I don’t know if he is the best player but the most important player is Kuku. And, I think, the highest ceiling player in our team is Karl,” March responded to Clinton "Fear" Loomis' query regarding the team's best player.

Captain Kuku has frequently been mentioned by his teammates as someone whom they rely on to a great extent for drafting and strategy. March underscored the faith and belief that the entire squad has in Kuku at The International 10 (TI10)’s press conference last October. “The way we want to play Dota in T1 is Kuku’s leadership and Kuku’s idea on Dota, we just support and follow. Doesn’t matter if it is right or wrong,” he had then stated.

Karl, on the other hand, has always been recognized for his sheer talent and propensity to outperform his opponents in the midlane through aggressive gameplay. He has been playing the game from a young age and has worked his way up to the top stage after earning a name for himself in numerous regional competitions.

However, T1, as a whole, has not been in the best form in the DPC 2021-22, after proving to be the top team in SEA in 2021. BOOM Esports and Fnatic have been a step ahead, and in the current Tour 3, teams like RSG and Talon have also had the upper hand.

T1 now has three victories after six Tour 3 series, and its Major hopes are dependent on the outcomes of the other clashes. T1 will need BOOM Esports to win the series against Fnatic that is currently going on. Furthermore, the squad will require RSG to lose its final series versus Talon Esports. Finally, T1 must defeat Fnatic in its last series in order to force a three-way tiebreaker between Fnatic, RSG, and themselves for the final Major berth.

If T1 fails to qualify for the Major, the team will have to compete in the SEA regional qualifier to have a shot at competing at TI11 because it does not have enough DPC points to receive a direct invite.
