Ceb Says TI10 Is His Last Tournament

After OG's elimination from The International 10 (TI10), the team's offlaner, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, posted a tweet suggesting his retirement from Dota 2's competitive scene.
“I wished a different outcome for my last tournament, but I’m grateful for everything nonetheless,” Ceb wrote in a tweet.
Ceb and OG were seeking a third title at TI10 after winning the Aegis of Champions at TI8 and TI9.

After OG's elimination from The International 10 (TI10), the team's offlaner, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, posted a tweet suggesting his retirement from Dota 2's competitive scene. The OG mainstay expressed that he would have preferred a different result for his "last" tournament (TI10) but was grateful for everything regardless. Ceb noted that it was not enough for him to reach the goal this time despite his best efforts. After losing 2-0 to Team Spirit in the lower bracket of the TI10’s Main Event earlier today, OG was eliminated and finished in the 7th-8th spot. Ceb and OG were seeking a third title at TI10 after lifting the Aegis of Champions at TI8 and TI9.

Ceb suggests retirement after OG’s elimination from TI10

Despite the fact that losing was not easy, Ceb was proud of his team, staff members, and fans for showing strength throughout the year. “I wished a different outcome for my last tournament, but I’m grateful for everything nonetheless,” Ceb further wrote.

Team Spirit's midlaner, Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek wrote, "ez game" in the all-chat in the second game after securing a crucial ultra kill. In response to this, Ceb added that he didn't mind the banter inside the games. As he mentioned, beating OG would be a unique feeling for Team Spirit. Additionally, Ceb praised Team Spirit for its performance and wished it luck going forward in the tournament.

Ceb tweets after OG gets eliminated from TI10

Ceb previously announced his retirement from competitive Dota 2 in January 2020 but returned six months later. His motivation for returning was the desire to continue competing with his friends. “I honestly kinda take offense to the simple fact that other teams think that they can beat us”, Ceb had also stated upon his return, in a statement on OG's website.

As a result of their 7th-8th place finish at TI10, Ceb and OG win over one million USD. It is now down to the remaining seven teams to compete for the largest portion ($18,208,300 USD) of the $40 million prize pool. The two best teams will compete in the grand final of the event, which will take place at the Arena Nationala Stadium in Bucharest, Romania on 17th Oct 2021.
