BOOM Esports Inches Closer to a Major Slot After Tough Win Over TNC Predator

BOOM Esports was supposed to have it easy in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 against TNC Predator, but ended up giving it its all as the latter put on a commendable effort. TNC Predator had clear plans going into the series and executed them efficiently in both matches. Despite moments when it looked like the team would edge out BOOM Esports, the latter held its nerve and pulled off the 2-0 victory. BOOM Esports' series victory propels them further ahead in its quest for a Major slot, while TNC Predator falls further behind and is on the verge of relegation.

BOOM Esports vs TNC Predator: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In game 1, both teams were able to pick up some signature heroes but it was TNC Predator that took advantage of them to get an early lead. The two teams continued relentlessly engaging in teamfights, with TNC Predator getting the better trades. TNC Predator led by 12k after 38 minutes, but a risky decision to attack the enemy high ground led to trouble after Yopaj bought back and found multiple kills in return. This led to a turnaround for BOOM Esports who won the game in 48 minutes.

Game 2 was much like the first one with both teams wanting to gain a lead by constantly poking each other. This time, it was BOOM Esports that outshined TNC Predator and thanks to an offlane Beastmaster, took down their tier 2 tower within 12 minutes. BOOM Esports snowballed after this, even grabbing two lanes for Barracks, but TNC Predator demonstrated remarkable spellcasting to bring the game back to an even footing. While it looked like TNC Predator might do what BOOM Esports had in the first game, a couple of misplays cost them dearly resulting in a 44 minute loss for the former.

Here are some highlights of the series.

BOOM Esports continues its winning streak. In the last 20 series, the team has won 17 and drawn three. In contrast to the previous series in the DPC, today was a true test for the team. It came close to defeat at multiple points in the game, but showed its ability to handle pressure and prevail. Boom Esports is now very likely to qualify for the Major with five consecutive series wins in the DPC.

It was clear that TNC Predator's goal was to shut down Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer in both games, and they did an excellent job doing so in the lanes. However, considering the form Yopaj has been in, he came back in both games with impressive finishes of 18-7-11 and 15-16-21 KDAs. Even so, all TNC Predator players could be proud of the way they played today and gave the top-seeded team in the league a run for its money.

BOOM Esports’ next series in the DPC SEA will be against T1 on 15th Jan 2022 while TNC Predator plays OB.Neon on 12th Jan.
